Weeks went by. Minho texted and called. Everyone did. Yet, no one, not a single person, received a response.

Minho could've sworn he heard walking around one day. He might've been going insane at that point, though. He couldn't be sure.

It was so strange to him, to go from hanging out almost every day for years to not seeing someone at all for weeks. and not just someone, Thomas.

Thomas on the other hand had decided to give up. After so long, so many useless classes, arguments, and parties, he was simply fed up.  He no longer cared if he upset anyone. He finally decided to disappear.

He got every single text, call, and voicemail. He just didn't respond. He had spiraled. He knew he had caused himself to get this bad. He knew it was his fault in a sense. Not that he decided to be mentally unstable, but he easily chose to let himself stay that way.

He had himself locked away in his room. Only leaving when he knew Minho was at school and his parents, god knows where.

Eventually, Thomas got confident his plan had been a success. he laid low at home. didn't intervene during fights. Hell, he didn't do anything other than sit in his room.

That was until the school called his mother to ask how he was doing and when he would return to school. To say she was pissed was an understatement. Thomas was sure Minho had heard the fight. Actually, he knew he had because he received a text about it afterward.

His parents decided he was no longer trustworthy and told the school to contact one of them if he didn't show, which was ironic because they had never shown up anywhere for him his entire life.

Unfortunately, he didn't have a backup plan so he just had to go to school.  He was dreading it.

After finding out that Thomas was indeed fine and was simply hiding out in his room, Minho was pissed. He texted Thomas, then immediately began drumming. he didn't care how loud he was being. or about possible noise complaints. It's not like his dad was home, or like his mom was even alive, so why should he care?

He couldn't understand why Thomas wouldn't even respond to his texts. his. They had been best friends since Thomas switched to Minho's school in the 5th grade.

And he couldn't wait to get to school and confront Thomas about his shitty behavior. Minho had never been the type to shy away from confrontation. Forget all the sappy shit, he wanted to beat the fuck out of Thomas.

And still, even after Minho knew what Thomas was doing, he didn't bother replying to any texts. What an asshole. Minho had decided Thomas should win the 'stupidest best friend award' because he sure was being really stupid.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Thomas woke up the next morning to yelling, specifically his mom yelling his name. He got up, threw on some jeans and a hoodie, and walked into the kitchen. "yes?" His mom glared at him as she sipped her coffee. he thought that was weird because since when did they keep coffee?
 "Are you ready for school?" Thomas immediately rolled his eyes and began to walk towards the door. She didn't say anything yet he could still feel her eyes burning a hole in his head.
As he walked down the stairs, he silently prayed Minho was already gone. because he definitely didn't want to deal with all that so early.
As he passed Parkers' door, he let out a breath he didn't mean to hold. The peace lasted until he heard Minho's, clearly irritated, voice.
"What the fuck, Thomas?" Thomas paused his walking as he heard Minho making his way towards him. "Everyone was worried. We thought something had happened. I mean- Really? You completely ignored everyone, including me, for weeks? Why?"
Thomas still hadn't looked at Minho. And he didn't want to. "I don't wanna talk about it, okay?" He felt Minho turn to face him as they made their way out of the apartment complex. "Well, I do. Guess you should've thought about it before disappearing." No more words were shared during their trudge to school.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

As soon as they got to the normal hangout spot, Thomas was bombarded with questions.

"Where were you?"

"What happened?"

And of course, a "What the fuck?" from Brenda, who Minho had told what happened. And she was not happy.

Thomas looked to Minho for help. He just pretended to be to engulfed in his phone to pay attention to what was going on around him. Thomas sighed as he spoke the same words from earlier, "I don't want to talk about it, okay?"

No one asked any more questions but Thomas could feel the tension. Tension that made it clear that no one, not even Frypan, was happy with him.
