Chapter 2: 7 Minutes in Heaven

It was their third year attending Hogwarts. They had always gotten into mischief, but this one particular night it had been a classic Gryffindor party. Everywhere you looked there was firewhiskey, the common room was filled with the scent of cigarettes. There had just been a quidditch match, and of course (as always) Gryffindor had won. The four boys were sitting on the common room couch, when suddenly Prongs said something, "We should play 7 minutes in heaven, something to stir up this party." Peter looked at him like he was already exhausted from the game. "Well that sounds like a terrific idea," Sirius said, smirking. "I've felt a little too single lately, this could fix that." Remus remarked, while running a hand through his sandy curls. "Right then, it's settled," James told them. Peter rolled his eyes. "Everyone, Seven Minutes In Heaven is about to begin!" Prongs yelled out to the party. Most of the students at the party ignored, but Lily, Mary, Marlene, Dorcus, Alice, Frank, and Regulus all sat down in a circle around an empty bottle of firewhiskey. Regulus always attends the parties because Sirius would beg him to come, but he also wanted to see James. Sirius had always known about his younger brother's infatuation with James, so he knew this was the perfect opportunity for him. Remus looked up at Sirius admiring the way his hair fell perfectly in front of his face, then he suddenly felt Lily nudge him in the side. At first he looked upset then he saw her giving him a look that said, 'you're giving yourself away with that staring.' he immediately got all flustered and looked down at the ground, picking at his fingers. Once they started the game James said, "Who's brave enough to go first?" Marlene raised her hand and spun the bottle. It landed on Dorcas, she smiled and took her hand while leading her to the broom closet. "Don't have too much fun now kids!" Sirius yelled out sarcastically. "I'll go next," James said proudly while biting his lip. It landed on Remus, Reggie looked down disappointed. "Oh hell no!" James said while spinning again, on his second try it landed on Regulus. Regulus looked up at James, James was trying to hide his smirk while taking Reggie to his dorm. Sirius looked up and gave a sly smile to his younger brother. As Remus watched as Sirius took a swig of firewhiskey he couldn't help but think about how badly he hoped the bottle landed on him. "We have one more closet for the game, so who's spinning next?" Peter asked. Lily noticed how nervous Moony was so she volunteered, it landed on Mary and they took the last room. Sirius saw Remus picking at his shaking hands and asked, "are you okay Moons?". Remus looked up at him and nodded and smiled anxiously.

Once Marlene and Dorcas' time ran out they came back and sat down. "Looks like you two had fun." Alice remarked sarcastically. Marlene rolled her eyes and laughed. "Well I'll go next." Sirius decided. Deep down he knew he wanted it to land on Remus, he had always felt different about him than his other friends; but he could never figure out why that was. As the bottle spun it seemed to Remus like it was going in slow motion, he was silently begging for it to go faster and put him out of his misery. As it slowed down Sirius got more nervous that it wasn't going to land on Remus. It finally came to a stop, he looked down and was relieved when he saw it was Remus, he looked at Remus and told him, "We don't have to go through with it if you're not comfortable." Moony looked at him and said, "That feels too much like cheating, it is a game after all." he was nervous but knew he wanted to be with Padfoot. Sirius stood up and took the Werewolf's hand in his and led him to the broom closet that Marlene had just left. Remus walked in behind him and watched as he closed the door. "I'll get straight to the point," Remus said, "I've fancied you since first year, but I didn't think there was ever a possibility that you would ever like me back. I mean you're one of the most gorgeous, kind, and genuine people I've ever met. So there's no chance you could like me, I mean you've seen me under the full moon i'm terrifying, how could you ever like me ba-" Sirius interrupted his rambling with a kiss, he placed his hand on Moony's neck. Remus immediately kissed him back without hesitation, deepening it as he fully came to his senses. To them it felt like the world was silenced in that moment, like they were the only two people in the world. Pads pulled away and looked up to look at him in the eyes, "Scary? My god you're divine. I never realized how madly in love with you I truly am, I was blind to the thought that it wasn't platonic. I was raised to hate things that my parents didn't think were 'normal'. But Moons I think you are the most angelic and beautiful thing I've ever seen, I could look at you

for hours and never be tired of it." Remus looked down at the shorter boy in shock. He could feel a blush creeping up on him. Sirius thought the blush looked cute on him, he smiled and lightly bit his lip. They suddenly heard a knock on the door and pulled away from each other. "Finally, you've been eye snogging for months." James said. Remus was trying to find words but was just stuttering. James just smiled at them. "Please don't tell anyone Prongs." Remus whispered pleadingly. "I won't mate, but you can't keep it a secret forever." They hadn't quite thought about that yet, but they figured they could just save that problem for the future. Sirius exited before Remus and turned to wink at him while trying to hide his cheeky smile.
