Ten: An artefact?
Kun: Hm?
Ten: I was reading The 48 Curses again.
Kun: And?
Ten: An artefact.
Xiaojun: I thought it was a rumour.
He said while coughing and taking raspy breaths. The other two shared a look before looking back at Xiaojun.
Ten: You look really unwell.
Xiaojun: I'm... fine...
He said while blinking slowly.
Kun looked at Ten and nodded. Ten immediately got up and ran out the door while Kun helped Xiaojun to a couch on the side. He didn't resist much either, just letting Kun help him.
Xiaojun: Am I dying?
Kun: I hope not.
Ten: The doctor will take a while. So um... I just asked for a maid.
He said while rushing back in with Xiaoling right at his tail. She quickly walked over and checked on Xiaojun while the other two took a few steps back.
Xiaoling: Its just a fever. And its probably because of the change in environment.
Ten: What?
Xiaoling: With all due respect Sir Ten... you don't expect someone out of Scorta prisons after months of captivity, forced to mingle with people would do just fine.
Ten and Kun pursed their lips as she looked back at Xiaojun then to the other two.
Xiaoling: I'll bring him some tea and soup. He should be fine after a short nap.
The two nodded and she left. Just then Kun had an idea. He turned to Ten who sighed and picked up a book again.
Kun: We should go visit Owen.
Ten: Owen? Are you crazy? First, he won't see is. Second, the prince won't allow it. Third, Owen can kill us. You want to die?
Kun: We're going to die eventually.
Ten: No, not today. If not by the Phantom, I've no plans to die today, Sir.
Kun: Do you have better idea to present to the prince?
Ten pursed his lips and looked away, seemingly refusing to cave in. Kun sighed and folded his arms, throwing a glance at Xiaoling who walked back in with some soup.
Kun: We have no other choice... besides... we could take a break from the castle.
He said in a whisper and Ten looked back at him.
Ten: And the prince?
Kun: He asked us not to show him face till we have an idea to get rid of the Phantom.
