Around early evening everyone was gathered in the fully prepared ball room. There was going to be one rehearsal before the guests are expected to arrive.

Mei was on one side of the stairs where she stood next to Xiaoling and on the other side was Lady Lin. As per the Queen's request Mei was to stand in the front and so she was, second in line. Right opposite to the line of Maids in waiting were the members of the court.

Mei's eyes met Ten's and they shared a small smile before facing the front where the Queen and the prince stood.

They walked downstairs and the orchestra worked their magic. Mei's eyes immediately drew over to Sicheng who was by the piano. She was sure that she could never get tired of listening to him play the instrument. It was magical and beautiful. She was mesmerized till the very end. And from the reactions of people around her, she knew she wasn't the only one.

The Queen then had her speech, recounting keen events from her life as a ruler and expressed her gratitude for having such a lovely heir to her kingdom.

All throughout her speech Mei expected her to mention Yuyin at least once but it never came. At the same thought, Mei looked around the ballroom for a sight of the princess but didn't find her anywhere.

Is she not going to be here for the coronation?

---

YangYang knew he didn't have much to say. What he was meant to say was a speech that Kun had written for him when the prince was younger. YangYang had been byhearting the speech since he was eighteen and had easily made the speech practice his morning routine for the past six years.

So he found this boring.

He also knew he had to dance with princesses who will be arriving from the neighbouring kingdoms. He didn't have a problem with them, they were all beautiful. But he was not even looking for a partner.

Of course. It didn't matter. His wishes could not overpower Scorta customs. So he didn't even try to rebel. His sister did, at a point of time. Now she is not even spoken off anymore.

He let out a soft sigh as his mother finished her speech. They did a quick run up on his speech before they used a dummy crown for the coronation rehearsal.

After that the musicians worked their magic for the music that was to be played during the dance. A total of seven numbers for the night and then the feast. Followed by celebrations beginning in the seventh month.

YangYang found it overwhelming, mostly because he felt like his crowning was done in a haste. He thought he had a few more years to study about Scorta and how to rule it, but that hope was shattered because of the mad man.

Queen Liu: alright girls!

YangYang retreated to a chair and watched as his mother questioned her maids about the preparations, Kun standing next to her and confirming every task. Naturally the prince's eyes fixated on the particular maid he had embarrassed himself in front of.
