"Are you guys leaving already?" Nikita asked, upset.
"We have to beta! Dad won't get a leave tommorow." Yamini said.
"Dada?" She turned to her brother, "Can you stay?"
"I can't stay on your grounds. I'll have to stay outside. Better I go home, right?"
She nodded sadly.

Mayukh sat in the cafeteria with his cousins and his friends.
"Did you see any new hot girls today Ved?" Kashik Roy asked.

Kashik Roy, the younger son of Bishwas and Nayantika Roy and the younger brother of Ved Roy, was studying business with his brothers, but in his second year.

"Not really." Ved replied and turned to his cousin, "Mayukh, what about you?"
"Nope. Not interested, you know that."
"Yeah yeah! Just wait! A girl will come and make you obsessed. I'm counting on that day, then your sigma attitude will break." Ved chuckled.
"Aight! We'll see."
"Anyway, are you staying in uni or you going to stay at home?"
"I have my room booked here."
"Which?"
"The same. Thornhill."
"Is Kaki, Kaka okay with you staying there?"
"Yeah they don't mind!"
"Okay, I'll ask Mom Dad too."

As the cousins spoke, a swarm of girls surrounded them. "Hey Mayukh!" The screeching voice of Riya Gupta filled the air.
"Hey." Mayukh replied, uninterested.
"How were your holidays? You've gotten even more fit!"
"It was good, thanks." He replied.
Ashamed at the lack of response she was getting, she proceeded to sit herself next to Mayukh, on the chair next to the table he was sitting on.
"Riya. Don't you have your accommodation to get to?"
"I... I do, but... it can wait." She said.
"Hmph." He brushed it, acknowledging her.

After a long pause, he declared, "I'm gonna go. I'll catch you guys in a bit."
"What happened?" Riya asked.
"I need some air. Alone." He said, looking straight at her.
She hesitated and settled back in her seat.

He got his phone and headed outside the cafeteria, where he saw a bunch of students with their parents. A bunch of teary eyes of parents and children separating. As he walked, he saw a storm of girls staring at him. He smirked. He was used to this, and he did flirt around a lot, he just didn't want attention from Riya, who kept running behind him since first year.

"Let us know when to book your tickets for December okay?" Nikhil asked.
"Okay. Stay safe. Let me know when you reach." Nikita replied.

She bent down to take her parents and brother's blessings, who gave it with open arms. After a tearful goodbye, she guided her parents and brother into the taxi. After the taxi was out of sight, she wiped her tears and composed herself. Her hair was now in a loose braid, with her lipstick and everything else still intact. She opened her phone and texted her brother to tell her when they reach and then started to walk back to her room.

Her attention was lost in her phone when she bumped into someone. She gasped, feeling herself losing balance and closed her eyes in reflex, expecting a harsh fall. But, to her surprise, it didn't come. She opened her eyes and was greeted by a pair of light brown eyes, with steady hands secured around her waist.

She saw the man whose arms she was in. He looked very attractive. His light brown eyes, and sleek hair with his blue sweatshirt and black cargo pants. His cologne was invading her nose and thoughts. She got alert and looked away.
"I... I'm sorry." She said and quickly retreated from his hold and composed herself.

Mayukh watched her keenly as she fixed her outfit and hair before looking back at him. He was walking simply before she had bumped into him and he had caught her out of instinct. He looked at the woman in his arms and was caught off guard. She looked innocent, and lost. Her lips were pressed tightly. She opened her eyes and her brown eyes stared into his light brown eyes. Immediately, she let go.

Mayukh was half expecting her to stay in his arms, just as every other girl would, but was surprised that she let go and wasn't even looking at him. He observed her, her slim curved figure with her black full sleeves top and army green cargo pants.
She has good style, he thought.
Her hair strands were gently flowing in the wind. Her floral scent filled his mind and nose.
"I... I'm sorry." She repeated, her eyes on him, stepping him out of his trance.

Before he could ask her anything, she had run off, and he turned back to watch her retreating figure.

Who is she? He thought.
Likewise, a few steps away, she was in the same thought.
Who is he?
