[Indore, 4 days later]

Nikita POV:

It had been a rollercoaster of a semester, but I managed to come home early. Yesterday was the semester ball, which I skipped. I didn't want to see him and her. It hurt me to admit, but I was falling for him. He felt nothing. He just played around with me. Riya was right. She was rude but she warned me on day one.

After that day, I couldn't stay there anymore. I asked dada to book me a flight straight away. That evening, I was home.
I didn't want to stay there anymore.
In a way I should thank God that the reality was in front of my eyes before things got worse, before Mayukh and I.... Anyway. It's over now.

"Nikita. Come down fast." Aai said.
I got up from my bed. 9:30am. It's way too early.
"Coming. Give me a bit." I said, lazily.
I was not okay.
But I had to be.

I showered and got dressed into basic shorts and a tee shirt and went downstairs.
"Yes, Aai?" I asked, stretching.
"Hurry up. Where are you? Our flight is in another 4 hours and you're getting up right now? What's this?" She ranted.
"Aai, relax. I'm ready. I just need to change."
"Eat breakfast fast now."
"Where are Dad and Baba?"
"Baba is coming back from work."
"Work? Sunday?"
"He took a half day today till 10, so he can make up for the leave."
Oh. This middle class reminder. Having to work to compensate for the basic holidays.
"Oh. Right."
"Relax beta. It's all fine."
"What about Dada?" I asked, ignoring her.
"He has gone for breakfast with his friends. Call him and ask where he is, should be home soon."
"Yaar everyone's out. Why did you wake me up so early?" I whined, "I'm sleepy."
"I don't know what's on with you, since you got back you've been so distant and lost, kya hua?"
"Nothing Aai. Relax."
"Anyway, go get ready. Have you packed?"
"I did. I'm ready. I'll go get ready."
She smiled and nodded.

I went upstairs and looked at myself.
I wasn't okay Aai, but what to do.
I changed into a simple black bodycon dress with a spaghetti strap, with a black and white checkered shirt as an overall. I braided my hair as usual, added my minimal stuff and went down.

"I'm ready." I announced as I saw Baba enter.
"Beta, you're ready? Good." He said, as I gave him water, "Where is Nikhil?"
"He went for breakfast with his friends. He's coming. I messaged him." I replied.
"Okay. I'll change and come." He said and left.

Just then, Aai came back, ready.
Aai was a good looking lady, she was medium height and in her late 40s but was still relatively in shape. She was a beautiful person too. Dad as well, 5'7 height, relatively well built. Both my parents are pretty - just poor.

"Guys! Let's go!" Dada came.
"We're sitting ready. Except Baba. Are you ready?" I asked him.
"Yes doll. I'm ready." He said, pinching my cheeks, "Where's our bags?"
I pointed to the hall where our bags were and he instantly called the cab and started to bring the bags to the front.
"Nikku, what about your friends?" Dada asked.
"I've messaged them."
"Where are you meeting them?"
"They'll come directly at Udaipur."
"Okay!"
"Let's go now." I said.
"Alright cab is here too." Dada said, "Nikku, tell Aai Baba to hurry up, I'll keep the bags."
"Okay."
I went inside and called them and soon we all left for Udaipur.

"Where are your friends Nikku?" Dada asked, as we got our stuff from the baggage belt.
"They're here, just...." I said, looking around.
"NIKKIIII!" Aisha's voice interrupted me, as she ran towards me.
"There they are!" I said and ran to them.
"Guys! Feels like I haven't seen you forever."
"Well someone left early." Krutika said.
"Hello! Aisha left earlier than me." I defended.
"Come, let me introduce you to my family." I said and took them to everyone.
"Aai and Baba, this is Aisha and Krutika." I said, grabbing their attention.
"Hello Beta!" Aai said.
"Hello!" Baba also greeted.
"Where is Dada?" I asked, not seeing him near.
"He's getting a cab." Aai said, then continued talking to Aisha and Krutika, "So how are you guys? Have you eaten?"
"Firstly, Aunty Uncle you guys are so good looking!"
"Thank you beta!" Aai said.
"That's my brother. Nikhil." I said as Dada came.
"Hi." He introduced himself and so did my friends.
"Alright the cab is ready. Let's go." He said.

We all sat and drove to the wedding venue. It was a beautiful resort. Wow. They really put in the effort for this wedding.

"Hello. You are?" A guy spoke.
"Joshi's." Baba said.
"Yes. Right this way. Your room is here."

We followed the man into the rooms listed on our name. It was beautiful. A bed in the middle with majestic royal interiors, overlooking the beautiful lake.
"Where are you guys going to be?" I asked Aisha.
"Actually, your brother said that he'll take our room and we both can stay with you!"
"Oh really! Smart!" I chirped.
"Alright girls, go get ready. We have the dinner party to attend in the evening." Mom said.
"What's the dress code?" Aisha asked.
"Western classy formals." Mom said.
"Ooooh, fun!" Krutika said.
"Enjoy girls!" Dad said and they all left.

~•~•~•~

It was around 7pm when we all stayed in our rooms. We had closed the curtains, ordered food and had watched a bunch of movies and gotten a lot of conversations done within the few hours we had.
Girl time, best time.
Now, we all were getting ready for the evening dinner.

Krutika and Aisha wore a pink and green gown respectively. They looked beautiful. I was the last to get ready because I was busy watching a show!
"Nikita! Hurry up!" Aisha screamed.
"I'm ready I'm ready!" I said, coming out.

I looked at myself in the mirror. I wore a beautiful red gown with a slit from just above the knee to the ground. It has a strapped back and had a very thin strap over the shoulders. It covered my chest decently, although it was a bit low. My hair was straightened and curled at the end, with a few strands falling down my face. I had a coat of matte red, subtle red, lipstick and a basic subtle smokey eye makeup. I looked good.

"Wow. You look amazing!" Kru said.
"Thank you!" I hugged her, "let's go?"
"After we take a picture of us!" Aisha said.
We took a bunch of pictures and then made our way downstairs to the hall.

The hall was beautifully lit. A huge stage at the top, with a bunch of mystic flowery lights and theme, plenty of tables and live music on the side. It was a rich people party indeed. Amazing.

"There you guys are!" Nikhil said and we turned, "Wow, y'all are looking great."
I hugged him and I asked for Aai Baba, to which Dada said that they're meeting a few guests.
"Anyway, you guys have fun. I'll be with my friends. Call me if you need anything?" Dada said and I smiled and nodded.

We roamed around the halls and soon we were called to listen to the man on the center stage. I looked at the bridge and groom walking up.
They looked beautiful.

"Please, give a special welcome to one of the most gentle souls, playing a huge contribution to this wedding - Mr and Mrs Roy."

No.
