Mayukh POV:

"Where did she go?" I asked Gautam Dada.

I was in the middle of a conversation when I saw Riya approaching Gautam Dada and her. I saw Dada pull her away and I relaxed, but after that I can't find her anywhere.
What happened?
It had been 3 hours since she was out of sight and I have been restless. I need to see her.

"Mom. Where did Nikita go?" I asked.
"She left long back. She even reached home."
"What? when?"
"She left around 7."
"Why?"
"She said she needed to work tomorrow."
"Oh."
"She's a nice girl Mayukh." Mom said, removing her jewelry.
"I know."

I left the room and was stopped by Dada, "bro?"
"Yeah?"
"Go find Nikita... talk to her."
"Why? What happened?
"I tried asking her what happened to her, she seemed extremely distorted and scared."
"How was she scared, again?"
"Riya." We said in unison.
"We need to do something about this." I said.
"We do."
"What can we do Dada?"
"We'll sort it out after the wedding. Go meet her."

I nodded and took my bike out and hurried to her place. It was 10pm. Would she have slept?
I don't know, I'll figure it out.
I used the fire exit and reached her balcony.
It was unlocked. Slowly, I entered inside and shut the door slightly, waiting to see where she was. After a while, I heard her voice coming towards the room along with footsteps.

She opened the door while saying goodnight to her friends and then shut the door. As soon as she shut the door, I turned her around and covered her mouth before she could scream and pinned her to the wall.
Her eyes were wide. I stared at her fearful face.
"I'm sorry. I didn't mean to scare you." I said, removing my hand from her and keeping it around her waist.
"Why are you here?" She whispered.
"Why did you leave? Without telling me."
"I told your Mom, why do I need to tell you?"
I sighed, "What did Riya say or do?"
I saw her face widen and she looked down, was she avoiding this?
"What happened? Tell." I said sternly.
"Nothing..." she said.
"Jhoot. Tell me what she said Nikita."
"She... didn't say anything..."
I was getting angry. Very angry. Not just at her, but also at Riya.
"Nikita... speak." I said, my voice increasing.
"Mayukh she... didn't say anything..."
I groaned and held her wrist tightly, and looked at her.

Nikita POV:

His eyes were oozing anger. His hold on my wrist was oozing the anger.
What do I do Mayukh?
I can't be honest with you, or I'll lose my place in the university. I can't keep this hidden, you somehow read my expressions. What do I do?
"Nikita, if you don't tell me in the next 10 secs, then don't blame me for what happens next." His eyes were gazing mine - with a mixture of anger and... love?
I can't tell him. No matter what happens.
"She didn't do anything." I said, acting normal.
He sighed, "Okay then."
His hands let go off mine as he stepped away. He glanced at me once before he went down from the balcony.

Once he left, I fell on the floor, tearing sternly uncontrollably down my face. I can't do this.
I picked up my phone, "Dada..."
"Yes Nikku."
"Book my tickets. I want to come home."

Mayukh POV:

She just won't talk. She refuses to talk. Why?!
I'm trying to help her.
I've always tried to help her.

I drove down the city to release my anger as her fearful face, her tears, her stammering brushed in front of my eyes.
Ugh.
I shouldn't have gotten mad at her. She's already scared of me. I made it worse.

I reached home, and went to my room silently. I'll deal with Riya tomorrow. I know what I have to do.

The next day, I walked up to Riya, seeing her sitting with her simps in the university grounds. "Oh hey Mayukh. How are you?" She chirped.
"What did you do?"
"What?"
"I said, what did you do yesterday? To Nikita."
I saw her face change, "Mayukh. I didn't say anything. I just asked her how she came to your house. You aren't family friends, so?"
"That's none of your business."
"I was just curious Mayukh."
"What do you want?"
"You."
"And if I give you that, will you leave her alone?"
"What?"
"Yes. I'm serious. If I give you me, will you leave Nikita alone?"
"You know I will."
"Will you fix the fear she has in her mind?"
"Yes."
"Will you lift her reputation which you dropped?"
"I'll do everything."
"Okay then. Fix all that. I'm with you."
"How do I trust that you won't go to her?"

I sighed and looked at Nikita walking our way. I looked at Riya and grabbed her waist and slowly kissed her check, "Do you believe me now?"
She blushed and nodded.
"Stick to your part of the deal then babe." I caressed her face slowly and walked away.

Nikita POV:

What did he do? I thought he...
I felt my eyes tearing up as I watched him grab Riya and kiss her. I don't know if it was the cheek or the lips from my angle but in either way, I thought he had feelings for me. I thought that everything meant something to him.... My feelings were... never mind.
I was right.
Since day 1.
He can't be trusted.

I turned around to walk away when I suddenly saw Mayukh coming in my direction. His eyes meeting mine.
I tore my eyes away and walked away.
He didn't stop me.

I quickly hurried to my room and crashed on my bed, tears in my eyes.
"Nikita?! What happened?!" Krutika said.
"Leave me alone Krutika."
"No. Tell me what happened."
I got up and hugged her tightly and narrated everything what I saw.
"I told you, he's not serious about me. He doesn't have anything to do with me."
She didn't reply.
"You're the one who said, right, that he loves me. You saw his love?!"
"Nikita...." She tried to calm me.
"Which love involves kissing another girl, the same girl you know your love is scared off."
"I'm sorry Nikita. I didn't think he'd do that."
"I shouldn't have gotten involved..."
"Why are you so affected if you anyway wanted him anyway? Shouldn't you be happy?"
"What?" I said, looking up.
"Yeah, think about it, you got what you wanted: him saying away from you, but you're crying and not happy. Why?"
"I..."
She's right. I should be happy.
"You love him, don't you?" Krutika smiled sadly.
"What? N..."
I couldn't finish that sentence.
"You don't need to answer. I got your answer."

I had started to love him. I had.
