Nikita POV

It had been two weeks since then, I was about to head home the today. A month flew by. A bit too quickly.

I was finishing packing my bags while I listened to Aai, who spoke about the whole plan once I am back, especially for my birthday. I have never been too fond of my birthday. It felt like something I didn't need to celebrate.

In this one month, I tried my best to not think about him. I screwed up by letting my heart down for him. I was avoiding him, then why did I fall for him again? Why couldn't I just stick to my own decision?!

I had an early dinner then got a cab and went to the airport. CSDS was a great opportunity for me. No matter the backstory, I had to say thanks to Riya for letting it happen peacefully. I was worried that something would go wrong but it didn't, and I'm glad.
I boarded my flight and soon, I was back home.

Next Day.

"Hurry up! It's time for uni!" Aisha said. I got up and stretched as her voice shrieked in my ears.
"Aisha relax. I'm awake." I said.
"You have to get to college Nikita. Hurry up."

I just gotten back this morning and barely slept when Aisha pushed me to wake up.
Why is she forcing me to get to university?
"Aish, is there something important?" I asked.
"Yes. You've missed a month of classes and I don't want you missing more. It's your final semester."
"Is that it? I can catch up, don't worry."
"I'm not saying you won't, but I think you need to hurry up."
"Okay relax." I said and got up.

I took a warm shower and then got ready in a simple black dress with a denim jacket on it. India feels good.

I ate my breakfast quickly and then walked to my class. Everything felt different. I was getting stares from random people who I hadn't even seen before.
What's going on?
Aisha couldn't come with me because she was getting very late so I didn't know what to do. I watched everyone look at me and a weird feeling erupted in my stomach. I was uncomfortable.

"Hey!" I turned around to see Ayush.
"Hi." I said, still noticing the stares, "What's up?"
"How was your CSDS internship?" He asked me.
"How do you know about that?"
"Are you kidding? Everyone knows about that. It's not a simple thing to get into CSDS. It's a huge deal." He said, "Congrats!"
"Thank you! It was really nice."
"Come, let's go to class." He said and led the way.

I followed behind him but my eyes and ears were looking out for the one person who I didn't wish to see. I haven't seen him in a month and even though he had always been around in my mind somehow, I'm not going to make that mistake again. I got a second chance by being away for a month and I plan on making most of that chance. I'm not going to let him hurt me again.

We entered and soon a huge silence followed.
What is happening?!
"Umm... did something happen Ayush?" I whispered, "Why is everyone being strange?"
I saw him look away and then look back at me.
"What's going on? Why is everyone staring at me?" I asked.
"I'm not sure. Genuinely. I think the stares are because you've come back from CSDS. It's a big deal, like I said."
"Ohh! Okay then." I said, convinced.
"Come, let's sit."

I sat down next to him in the front and soon the professor arrived and he started teaching. 10 minutes into the class, I saw the door open and I saw him enter.
Oh no.
Luckily he didn't see me yet so I quickly put my head back to the front. I don't want to make eye contact with him.
"Mayukh." The professor said and I got goosebumps on my skin, "why are you late?"
His deep dusk voice replied, "Sorry prof, got busy with something."

I missed this voice.
Stop it, Nikita.

"Okay, go and sit. We're studying partnerships today."
"Prof, partnerships are the one thing I am great it." He replied, while I could feel his gaze on me.
