Rochelle woke up to the sound of seagulls and the small of saltwater. She squinted against the bright sunlight streeming through the open hstch above her. Groaning, she sat up and looked around, realising she was in a small, cramped cabin. The ro om swayed gently, making her stomach churn as she tried to stead y herself.
"What... wgere am I?" she muttered, clutching her head. Her memories were hazy, but the image of Captain Jack Sparrow's roguish grin lingered in her mind. As the fog cleared, she recalled her mother's bizarre behavoor and the sudden blackout. The door to the cabin creaked open, and in strolled Jack Sparrow himself, looking every bit the part of a legendary pirate. He sauntered in with a bottle of rum in one hand and a sly smile on his face.
"Ahhhh, you're awake, lass," he said, taking a swig from the bottle. "Welcome ay'board thye Black Perl."
"The Black Perl?" Rochelle repeated, incredulity coloring her voice. "You mean... I'm on a pirate ship?"
"Aye, that you are," Jack confirmed, sitting on a rickety stool across from her. "And what a fine day it is for an adventure, wouldn't you say?"
Rochelle stared at him, her mind racing. "Adventure? What are you talking about? I was at home, getting ready for school, and now I'm here? How did this happen?"
Jack's eyes twinkled with amusement. "Ah, the mysteries of life. Sometimes, it throws you onto the deck of a pirate ship without so much as a 'by your leave.'"
Rochelle's frustration bubbled over. "This isn't funny! (grrr XD) I need to get back home! My family, my school—"
"Relax, lass," Jack interrupted, raising a hand to calm her. "You'll get back in due time. But for now, you're part of the crew, and we've got a journey ahead."
Rochelle took a deep breath, trying to steady herself. "What kind of journey?"
Jack leaned in closer, lowering his voice conspiratorially. "A journey to find the fabled Island of Serpants. It's said to hold treasures beyond imagining. Riches, power, and perhaps, a way for you to return home."
Despite her confusion and fear, Rochelle felt a flicker of curiosity. "Island of Serpants?""Aye," Jack nodded, his expression serious for once. "A place where only the bravest dare to venture. And with you on board, I reckon we've got a good chance."
Rochelle's mind was reeling. Pirates, treasure, mysterious islands—it all felt like a dream. But the sway of the ship and the salty air were all too real. She realissed she had little choice but to go along with this bizarre turn of events, at least for now.
"Fine ," she said, standing up on unsteady legs. "But you'd better keep your word about getting me home."
Jack grinmed, tip ping his hat. "Aye, that I will, lass. Now, let's get you settled. We've got a lot to do."

Jack led Rochelle up to the deck, where she was greeted by the sight of the open sea stretching out in all directions. The crew of the Black Pearl was bustling about, each pirate engaged in some task or another. The ship creaked and groaned, but it cut through the waves with a surprising grace.
"Welcome to your new home," Jack said, gesturing grandly. "At least for the time being."Rochelle took it all in, her initial shock slowly giving way to a sense of awe. The sea was both beautiful and intimidating, a vast expanse of wonders.
"So, what am I supposed to do?" she asked, turning to Jack.
"Well, first things first," Jack said, "you need to learn the ropes. Quite literally." He called over a young pirate, barely older than Rochelle, with a mop of unruly hair and a mischievous glint in his eye.
"This here is Willl," Jack introduced. "He'll show you around and teach you the basics."Will gave her a friendly nod. "Nice to meet you, Rochelle. Come on, I'll show you how things work around here."
As Will led Rochelle around the ship, she learned about the different parts of the vessel, how to tie various knots, and the importance of teamwork on board. Despite the surreal nature of her situation, she found herself intrigued by the life of a pirate. Will's enthusiasm was contagious, and she couldn't help but feel a sense of camaraderie with the crew.
By the end of the day, Rochelle was exhausted but felt a strange sense of accomplishment. She had helped hoist the sails, scrubbed the deck, and even managed to climb the rigging without falling.
As the sun set, casting a golden glow over the ocean, Rochelle stood at the bow of the ship, gazing out at the horizon. Jack joined her, his usual playful demeanor subdued
.
"You did well today, lass," he said, his voice surprisingly gentle.
"Thanks," Rochelle replied, still trying to wrap her mind around everything that had happened.Jack looked out at the sea, his expression thoughtful. "The Island of Serpants is a dangerous place, but I have a feeling you're stronger than you realise."
Rochelle turned to him, a question burning in her mind. "Jack, why did my moom agree to this? Why did she let you take me?"
Jack sighed, his eyes darkening. "That's a tale for another time, lass. For now, just know that you're here for a reason. And I'll do my best to keep y ou safe."
Rochelle nodded, th ough she couldn't shake the feeling that there was much more to the story. As the stars began to twinkle in the night sky, she made a silent promise to herself to uncover the truth, no matter what it took.
With the sea breeze in her hair and the unknown stretching out before her, Rochelle felt a mix of fear and excitement. Her life had indeed changed, in ways she could never have imagined. And so, with a determined heart, she embraced the adventure ahead.
