DESTINED

Chapter 1

It is a very busy day in Atlanta, Zac is running around trying to get things for his Anniversary with his wife Karen. They have been married for 5 years now and have been trying for a baby since they met but no luck. With the rough morning he had, Zac found himself relaxing in a baby store couch looking at strollers. He longed for a child and every time it's brought up his wife acts weird.

Zac: That looks so beautiful, you should grab it.

He was talking to a woman who looked happily pregnant and picking things for her little. He didn't see anyone with her but he assumed the dad was close by.

Woman: It does right? This colour is everything. Having a girl or boy?

Zac: Neither, I just found myself in this store while I was walking by.

Woman: I see.

Zac: Congratulations by the way.

Woman: Thank you.

Zac made his way out for the store and headed to his house. His mind was racing and at the speed that he was driving, he needed to focus but his mind wasn't even on the road. He found himself speeding past a red light and his car was hit by a truck as it flipped over multiple times.

People came out to help him, paramedics were called. Zac was unconscious and rushed to the hospital, as for his car, it was written off. He woke up 3 days later and he was not verbal at all, he looked around the empty room trying to figure out how he got here and tried pulling out his breathing tube. As the machine beeped with urgency a doctor came rushing in to assist.

Fatima: I'm sorry sir, relax so I can take it out for you.

He did as he was told. With his throat sore and dry, he asked for water and the doctor gave him. He groaned and cleared his throat preparing himself to speak.

Fatima: Don't rush.

Zac: What happened?

Fatima: You were involved in a car accident and you have been here for three days. We tried looking for someone to call but you had nothing on you. What's your name?

Zac: Zachary. Has anyone come looking for me?

Fatima: Not that I know of, but I will ask the nurse. I'm Dr Wilson and I've been your doctor since you arrived and you'll be ready to go home soon. Do you have any one who we can call.

Zac wanted to give out his wife's name and number but he didn't. He took this as an opportunity to get away. He instead gave out his business partner.

Zac: You can all him. Please tell him not to tell anyone and to get here ASAP.

Fatima: Got it.

His doctor left and Zac stayed in his thoughts. He wants to start a new life, away from here and away from everyone. He remembered that in that moment that truck hit him, he was ready to leave this world. He was falling into a dark head space and sees this accident as a second chance and a chance to do life different again. 2 hours passed and his business partner, Jake walked through the door.

Jake: I've looked everywhere for you. Karen has been a mess.

Zac: I'm doing great Jake and I'm healing.

Jake: Sorry man. What happened? When I got the call I was shocked because for a moment I thought that you left the country to start over.

Zac: I was about too but then this happened. I need you to get me my banker and wire all my money into new accounts. I'm not going back to my old life.
