LEIA O'CONNOR

LEIA O'CONNOR REALLY DID MISS CAMP. She had never truly realised how much she took advantage of what was given to her. Suddenly, she no longer had the luxuries of fighting for the first set of showers, munching away on the breadsticks she desired, and slurping the magical purple apple juice she loved summoning. Now, those luxuries had been replaced with blisters in her feet, curls braided out her face, and the disgusting smell of her own body odour.

She really did miss camp.

It was seven days before the Summer Solstice, seven days before they were expected to complete their quest and return Zeus' master bolt back to Olympus. The four of them were wandering through downtown, Leia sparingly slurping on a carton of apple juice she had managed to savour.

She let out what seemed like the hundredth sigh when Annabeth finally exhaled, turning her attention towards the three besides her. "Let's try to contact Chiron," Annabeth said. "I want to tell him about your talk with the river spirit."

"We can't use phones, right?"

"Nope." Leia nodded, popping the 'p' and taking another loud slurp. The juice was finally gone and she groaned. "Oh come on."

"I'm not talking about phones."

It honestly was not the most pleasant day in the world. The air was hot and humid, Leia could practically feel the sweat lathering on her flesh. She really hoped at some point they could all make a pit stop and find something else to change into. It would make all of this so much more bearable. After what felt like hours of walking, the four finally came across an empty car wash, Leia finally realising exactly how they would be able to contact Chiron.

Though, this all must have looked absolutely bizarre. Four twelve year olds, all sweaty and clearly a bit unhinged, walking through a car wash, carless. Maybe they ought to steal some car? Make this a bit more plausible?

"No cops." Leia nodded at Grover and Annabeth, who gave her a thumbs up and went to work. Grover took hold of a spray gun, staring at it with a frown.

"What exactly are we doing?" Percy frowned at the three of them, clearly confused on why Grover cared so much about some spray can.
