I didn't know what to put for a chapter title😅

~~~~~
Wednesday walked outside to where his parents were in his uniform, which was black, white, and grey. He had an indifferent expression as he walked towards his family. His parents beaming with pride, old memories rushing back to them.
"Oh, look at you my little deathtrap!" Gomez cooed. "Looking at you brings back so many terrible memories. Doesn't it Tish?"
"Yes." Morticia breathed proudly. "Why don't you boys wait in the car?" Wednesday tried walking into the car with his other family members, but got dragged back by his mother. "Not you."
"But you said boys." He replied 'innocently.' Morticia hummed. Maybe his snarky attitude could get fixed as well. Gomez gave his son one last hug before walking to the car. Next was Pugsley who hugged his brother violently, eliciting as grunt from Wednesday. Pushing Pugsley back, Wednesday gave him a 'heartfelt' speech.
"Pugsley. You're soft and weak. You'll never survive without me. I'll give you two months tops."
"I'll miss you to bro." Pugsley said, his gaze downward. Pugsley walked back to the car, entering it with his father. This left Wednesday along with his mother, the Butler gazing at them from his side eye.
"Any plans you have of running away in right now." Morticia whispered softly but harshly. Mother and son locked in a fierce battle of gazes. "I've alerted all family members to contact me the minute you darken their doorstep. You have nowhere to go."
"As usual, you Underestimate me, Mother." Wednesday said as he crossed his arms. "I will escape this educational penitentiary, and you will never hear from me again."
Morticia's sighed, shaking her head softly. "You are a brilliant boy Wednesday," She started. "but sometimes you get in your own way." Wednesday looked away for a minute, seeming embarrassed, but he quickly got over it.
"I'm sure you'll grow to love Nevermore." Morticia looked around fondly. "and find it as a life changing as I did." Wednesday looked at his mother both their eyes locked. "Oh! I got you a little something."
Morticia grabbed something from her sleeve. She revealed a charm with a letter encircled.
"W..." Morticia turned the charm upside down. "M. Our initials." She smiled softly.
"It's made of obsidian, which Aztec priests used to believe conjure visions." She handed Wednesday the charm who looked at it confused. "It's a symbol of our connection. "
Wednesday scoffed upon looking at the charm. He was definitely not I'm impressed. He twirled the charm around his fingers to get a better look.
"Which one of your spirits suggested this toe-curling tchotchke?" He asked harshly. Morticia's smile dropped, looking offended.
"I am not you mother, nor will I ever be you. I will never fall in love, have a house wife or family." They stared at each other in silence as Wednesday's mother looked on the verge of crying.
"I'm told boys your age say hurtful things, so I shouldn't take it heart."
"Fortunately, you don't have one." Wednesday 'complemented' his mother. Morticia's smile returned, bigger than before.
"Finally, a kind word for your mother." Wednesday said nothing, making his mother awkwardly look around.
"Lurch, the crystal ball, please." She said after a moment. Lurch, walked over to Morticia, handing her a black bag.
"We can't talk to you for the first week while you're settling in," Morticia handed him the bag. "So we'll call you next Sunday."
Morticia tried to put her hand on Wednesday's shoulder, only for his to move away. She awkwardly pulled her arm away, walking away from him with one last look. Wednesday watched his mother with dead eyes, but behind them was a lingering confusion.
Morticia sat beside Gomez without a word, looking a head. If you looked close enough you could see the tears forming.
"Don't worry my love." Gomez said, handing Morticia a hanger chief. "Our little scorpion won't be alone." Gomez flicked a switch on the his arm rest. The undercarriage opened, releasing a disembodied hand. The hand landed on its fingers before walking towards the school to complete his mission of watching Wednesday.
The sheriff and his partner stood in the forest, soaked to the bone as rain continuously poured down upon them. They were looking at the remains of a recent hiker who decided to camp in the forest. Their eyes down casted.
"Where's the rest of him?" The sheriff asked.
"Well, the torso and arm are over there." She said pointing ahead. "We found a leg by the lake. And there's another arm in that tree over there." The sheriff looked to where she was pointing. "And the rest of the parts are unaccounted for. It matches the profile of the other two attacks last week."
The sheriff took a moment to gather his thoughts. Trying to retain this new information that he just learned. After a while he nodded though, seemingly having his thoughts in order.
"Alright. Issue a warning, keep hikers out of the woods." He took another look at his surroundings. "Don't approve any more campfire permits for the foreseeable future."
What do you want me to tell the press?" The lady asked. The sheriff looked at her with a dead pan gaze. "You know they're going to be swarming like mosquitos in July."
"Tell them the bear is back."
"You don't believe that, Sheriff." The lady said with a disbelieving chuckle.
"No, I don't." He looked back at the torso of the hiker. "Whatever did this wasn't human. Look I know these murders are connected to Nevermore." He said pointing in the distance where the school presumably was. "But I can't prove it just yet. So until I can...
It's a goddąmn bear."
A/N: Sorry for such a short chapter, but I think the long chapter before makes up for it. Originally I was gonna add them together but that seemed to long for me. Also, thanks for the reads! It may not seem like much to you guys, but it really motivates me to keep this story going! It's probably one of the few stories I don't cringe so bad at when re-reading.😅
