Uhh, mention of blood and killing and stuff like that👍 if you don't like these kind of things, don't read this chapter

(Third person pov brought to you by Selene who's stressed of homework so I'll write to calm down)

(Also making it a flashback)

Haku grumbled under his breath as he carried an umbrella, walking through the snow in his signature loose clothing.

Suddenly, something caught his eye. A figure in a hat was curled up, sobbing and shivering... but what really caught his eyes were the blood splatters on their body.

(Yeah no I suck at writing third person I'll switch to second person pov and sorry for the frequent changes)

Haku narrowed his eyes as he came closer towards the figure cautiously. "...respond." He said, stopping right in front of you.

You slowly looked up, your blood-shot and teary eyes meeting his stern gaze. "...sorry," you mumbled, trying to stand up. However, once you did, you lost your balance and fell back, your eyes closing shut. Haku, being a swift spirit, immediately shot his arm out, grabbing you by the waist with his free hand.

Haku sighed, wondering how he's now got an unconscious girl in his arm(s). He swiftly swung you on his back and began to return back to the bathhouse.

"Who's that?" Yubaba hummed, too busy looking at her documents to notice anything suspicious.

"No one," Haku responded quickly. Yubaba shrugged as she returned to her work.

Haku climbed up the stairs with you on his back, walking up with determination in his eyes. Once he closed the door to his room, he groaned as he set you down.

"What should I do with you..." he mumbled. He dabbed a towel in warm water and began to wipe the blood off your skin. His touch was gentle, careful not to hurt you any further.

As he continued to clean you up, his eyes noticed something white and furry, only covered with specs of dirt and a bit of blood. Haku's eyes widened the realisation hit him. It was a tail. He quickly removed your hat, and sure enough, there were white ears.

"A kitsune spirit? Weren't they extinct?" Haku mumbled, staring at the ears and tail (it feels like I'm straight up describing a furry help -Selene). He began running his hands through the soft, white tail, his fingers weaving out some of the dirt.

"Woah..." he gasped, feeling the softness of your tail. It felt like as if he was touching a cloud.

Slowly, your eyes fluttered open. "W-where am I?" You mumbled, sitting up, eyeballs darting around before spitting Haku. "Who are you?" You moved back quickly, getting defensive.

Haku stood up and walked towards you, before crouching to your height. "I'm Haku," he said sternly. "The dragon spirit of a river...but I don't remember which one." (For context, he doesn't remember because the river is his name)

You nodded and slowly began to relax your shoulders. "I'm Y/n," you nodded. However, you still had your guard up.

Haku, noticing this, let his gaze soften a bit. "Relax. It's not like I'm gonna hurt you. Quite the opposite actually. I'm here to heal you."

You reluctantly lowered your guard as Haku approached you. He began to wipe away the rest of the dirt, and used bandages to gently patch you up. During the entire treatment, you stayed silent, pondering whether to trust him.

"Done," Haku's cold voice snapped you out of your thoughts. "Thank you..." you muttered, trying to stand up. As a result, you fell back down.

"Are you alright?" Haku's voice was still nonchalant, but this time, it was laced with a hint of worry.
