It's the day of homecoming and honestly I have never been so stressed. My hair appointment is at 8am, nail appointment at 1:30, makeup appointment at 4:30, and I gotta be ready by 7 because Erica wants to take pictures before we go to the dance. I should really kill Naomi and Jakaylen for making everything so close in time.
I got up around 6 to get ready. My hairstylist is about 30 mins away and I need gas so I have to leave no later than 7:15. The attitude I have right now is unbelievable. Already knowing I wasn't gonna do much since I didn't have the energy, I did my morning care and threw on a two piece. Because I had to arrive with my hair wash and blow dried, I needed to blow dry my hair real quick. As I was doing so, Erica called.
"Hello"
"Yes Mo?" I said kinda harsh feeling bad after
"Oh uh bad time?" she said sound concerned
"No I'm sorry, I didn't mean to sound rude I just don't like early morning appointments" I said sitting the phone up
"It's okay, I understand. Want me to call later?"
"No you dont have too"
"Okay. Question?"
"What's up?"
"Can I have some of your hair?" she said smiling really big
"You want me to cut my hair and give it to you? What am I gonna do"
"We can think about that later" she said smiling causing me to laugh
"Okay" I said shaking my head
"What time you gotta leave?"
"In like 20 mins"
"Can you have guest at your appointment?"
"Uh yeah 1 person why?"
"I wanna come if thats okay with you"
"Okay I'll pick you up" I said putting my hair in a bun
I hurried up what I was doing and left to get Erica. It's like having her around is calming and comforting, so whenever the chance comes around I hop to it. By the time I got to her house it was 7:20 so we needed to start heading to my hairstylist house. She had an appointment at 9, meaning she had to leave early which I didn't really mind.
For homecoming, I decided to do a flip over sew in. Something really cute and don't have to take out right away.
I still don't wanna go to homecoming, but I am because Erica asked me. I have my reasons but I guess I'll put them behind me for the night. Hopefully we don't stay the entire time.
It didn't take long for my hair at all. I was done by 12 so I went back home until my nail appointment. While at the house, I talked to my mom about my relationship with Erica. She told me how she felt and that she would want to have a sit down with her just to see what her intentions are, which is understandable especially after my last relationship.
Once I left out to get my nails done, the day went by pretty fast. I got a simple black french tip with charms on them. My mom had the makeup artist come to the house instead of traveling to her, so I pretty much had to rush home once I was done.
I started getting ready around 6pm. Everyone was in my house, literally. From my dad down to my youngest niece. It was starting to get overwhelming so I stayed in my room. I tried calling snd texting Erica but she wasn't answer, which was making me sad. As soon as Shamika got here I told her come to my room.
"You okay Sara?"
"No, it's to many people in my house it's overwhelming me I dont wanna go anymore" I said whining
"Its okay just think about it in about 2 hours you'll be with Erica taking pictures"
"Which is more overwhelminggggggg I hate pictures" I said falling on the bed "And she hasn't been responding to me either Mika what if she doesnt wanna go with me anymore"
"Sara please she's probably getting ready just like you" she said in a duh tone "Come on so we can get you ready girl"
I groaned getting out the bed. It took us an hour and a half to get ready. As soon as I was done, we headed downstairs. You would think that it was prom season the way my house is packed. I sighed knowing that everyone was gonna be in my face for the next 30 minutes.
While taking pictures with everyone, I peeked at my phone to see if Erica texted me and what time it was. She hasn't said anything and I'm starting to worry. It's going on 7:10 and she hasn't said anything. How do you ask someone out and then don't show. I guess my mother could see the disappointment on my face because she pulled me to the side. I told her what happened and all she told me was to not worry.
Around 7:30 it was time to go. Erica never showed up and has yet to text me stating why. As of right now, I am fuming. I literally could've stayed home. She asked me for what. Once I got to the event space, Naomi and Jakaylen were the first people I seen. I told them what happened and they comforted me as best as they could. The energy in the room was just off, I just knew something was about to happen I just don't know what.
Maybe 30 minutes after I arrived, Erica got here. To say I was mad was an understatement. She walked in hand in hand with Lauren. Noami and Jakaylen tried taking me somewhere so I don't run into her but I told them I was good. I have nothing to say to Erica, at all. What she did was foul. I need a shot or something. Befofe, I could run into her I stepped outside and called Shamika.
"Hello"
"Mika come pick me up please"
"Why? What's wrong?"
"Erica I don't wanna be near her"
"Okay I'm coming"
"Naomi and Jakaylen going to an after party, you wanna go? I don't want to stay home"
"Okay we can go, Im leaving out now"
"Okay thank you"
I hung up and went back inside. While looking for my friends, I bumped into Erica. At first I wasn't trying to talk to her but she pulled me back outside so I kind of had no choice.
"V can you please let me explain"
"Its Kierra to you" I said coldly
"Okay, Kierra can you please let me explain I promise this is not how I wanted to spend my homecoming. You knew I wanted to go with you"
"Looks like you found a new date. I knew I shouldn't have gotten between you and her"
"There is nothing between me and Lauren I swear. She planned this out. She called my mom and had her bring me over there like it was an emergency then purposely made me stay so late I missed our pictures. And my phone, she took so all them texts and calls I couldnt answer. I tried I really did. Kierra I am so sorry I really am I know you need time but I swear on everything I love she held me hostage baby"
"Is it always gonna be like this, me competing with her" I asked genuinely, I dont want to deal with that
"No I promise. I just have to put my foot down and I swear I'll do that tonight"
"Promise?" I said holding out my pinky
"I promise" she said connecting out pinky's together
"Are we okay?" she asked and honestly I don't know.
We havent even gotten into an official relationship and Lauren is already becoming a problem. I dont want to deal with that but I really do like Erica and I shouldn't let one mishap ruin that for the both of us.
"I think so" I said honestly and she nodded
When we went back inside, I found my friends and stayed with them until Shamika got here. Once I left we went back to my house and got ready for the party.
What a night this is gonna be.
