Azalea, a girl who loves playing outside their house, went home only to see that their house was destroyed. She tried to look for her siblings and parents but couldn't find any of them. The place also reek of demon blood and fire so she thought that they may be dead. No one took her in even relatives so she wandered around. She live on the streets without any food and water. As she grew up, she stumbled outside the Ubuyashiki mansion.
As she decided to go ask for at least a water, she fell on the ground losing conciousness. Kagaya who was looking outside saw her lying on the ground. So he approached Azalea and took her inside his mansion. He called for Amane and she helped him take care of her.
It took Azalea 2 weeks to gain conciousness and saw that her clothes were clean and that she's inside a room. When Amane decided to check on her she saw that she's awake so she approach with a smile as to not scare Azalea.
"Hello, I'm glad that you're finally awake. I'm Amane, what's yours?" she started softly.
Azalea was about to speak but she only managed a croak as her throat was dry. Amane gave her some water and she drank immediately that Amane had to stop her.
"Slow down, no need to rush" she said.
"Thank you. I'm Azalea," she introduced.
Amane smiled then asked, "how old are you?"
"12 years old."
As Amane was about to ask more questions, Kagaya entered. He saw that Azalea's awake and gave her a smile.
"This is Ubuyashiki Kagaya, my husband," Amane introduced.
"And her name?" Kagaya asked.
"She's Azalea and she's 12," Amane answered.
"Let's eat, she might be starving" Kagaya suggested.
As Azalea stood up, her knees were shaking so Amane helped her walk. They reached the dining and she smiled at them. Amane put food on her plate and asked her to slow down. After they were done eating, they sat by the front porch of the mansion.
"Where is your family Azalea?" Kagaya asked.
"Dead. And none of my relatives took me in so I live on the streets," Azalea answered.
Amane and Kagaya looked at each other then they looked at Azalea who's watching the sakura tree.
"May we ask what happened to them?" Amane asked, cautiously.
"I really don't know. I was out to play and when I got home the house was destroyed and the surroundings were reeking of demon blood and fire," Azalea answered, as she remembered what she saw.
This made them took Azalea in and explain everything to her. So she made up her mind that she will fight for a better future without dangerous demons roaming around.

As Azalea grew up, she trained until Amane came home with a boy. She helped her tend to his wounds. When he woke up, he looked around his surroundings and saw Azalea beside him.
"You're awake. What's your name?" Azalea asked.
"Tokito Muichiro, you?"
"Azalea."
Azalea helped him and she even started to train with him after his wounds heal. The mist covering Muichiro's mind cleared and he remembered what happened to him.
As the final selection started, they joined and became a hashira at the age of 14. Amane and Kagaya were so proud of them but they also worry as they treated them as their real children. But they reassured them that they will take care of themselves and Azalea also promied that she will help heal Kagaya's illness. Even though he knew that there is no cure, he still believes that Azalea might be able to break the curse of his family, as Muichiro and Azalea were a miracle for them that got into their family.
