" how many are left?" I asked Finn knowing he'd understand what I was asking. how many Faye left on The Hit List.

" only two more An electric Faye and a future Seer Faye" he said the implications written all over his face, at first we just suspected that they were targeting at least one of each ability at least the more important abilities, the stronger ones but this has made it more clear they were. there were two left on The Hit List before they did God there's no what. The problem was, we didn't know which one they were going to attack, there weren't many future seer fayes probably a handful maybe a dozen, but there were over 100 electric fayes, So I couldn't just ask them all to hide they were too many, too many with families that would not go into hiding whether or not they were on that hit list.

The weight of Finn's words settled heavily on my shoulders as I processed the implications of the remaining targets on the hit list. An electric Faye and a future Seer Faye—those were the last two individuals marked for elimination by our unknown adversaries. The pattern was now clear: they were systematically targeting Faye with significant abilities, likely to weaken our defenses and destabilize our community.

Finn and I had been poring over lists, reports, and any shred of information we could gather to anticipate their next move. The electric Faye were numerous, scattered across the realms with varying levels of awareness about the danger they were in. It wasn't feasible to warn or protect all of them, especially those who were deeply rooted in their communities and might not believe the threat was real.

"Blair," Finn's voice brought me back to the present. I glanced at him, understanding the unspoken suggestion. Blair, my mate and a future Seer Faye, was currently within the palace walls. According to the latest reports, she should be safe under our protection. But Elizabeth, Blair's mother and a future Seer herself, had recently left the palace to gather intelligence and possibly warn others in danger.

"We need to bring Elizabeth back," I said firmly, my jaw tightening with resolve. Elizabeth was a crucial asset, not just because she was Blair's mother, but also because of her abilities as a future Seer. Losing her would be a devastating blow, both personally and strategically.

Finn nodded grimly, his expression mirroring my concern. "I'll organize a team to retrieve her. She shouldn't be alone out there, especially now."

I ran a hand through my hair, feeling the weight of responsibility settle deeper. "Make sure they're discreet. We can't afford to draw attention to her or to us."

He nodded again, already mentally calculating the logistics. "I'll take care of it."

As he left to mobilize our resources, I turned to the window, gazing out at the palace grounds bathed in the soft light of the setting sun. The serene beauty of the scene contrasted sharply with the tension and urgency of our situation. We were in a race against time, trying to protect our own while unraveling the mystery of who was behind these targeted attacks.

Minutes stretched into hours as I waited, thoughts racing through strategies and potential outcomes. Every scenario played out in my mind, each decision weighed against its risks and consequences. But amidst the turmoil, one thing remained clear: protecting those under our care was paramount, and that included bringing Elizabeth back safely to the palace.

When Finn returned with the news that the retrieval team was ready, I nodded in acknowledgment. "Keep me updated," I instructed, my voice steady despite the underlying anxiety.

He clasped my shoulder briefly before heading out again, his determination matching mine. We were united in purpose, driven by the need to safeguard our people and uncover the truth behind the looming threat.

As night descended and the palace settled into a cautious vigilance, I found myself standing once more at the window, watching the stars emerge in the darkening sky. The stars, like our people, were scattered yet resilient, each one a beacon of hope in the face of uncertainty.
