Days. It's been.
Sunghoon's worries were now overshadowed by enjoyment with Sunoo, his newfound friend.
Sunghoon knelt near a wide river Sunoo had teleported them to, as he'd asked if there was any body of water nearby for him to drink.
It was nearing evening, with just enough light for them to see their surroundings. The sun was setting, casting a warm, golden glow across the landscape, making the water sparkle like a bed of diamonds.
Sunghoon cupped his hands to gather the cool, clear water. He drank deeply, the liquid refreshing against his parched throat.
The freshwater tasted like a luxury. As he drank, water dripped from his hands, splashing onto his bloodstained Converse—stains from the night Sunoo had first bitten him.
Sunoo stood a few feet away, watching silently as the river flowed past. His eyes were fixed on the water, but his thoughts seemed distant as if they were somewhere far beyond the serene setting they found themselves in.
The vampire's usually sharp and alert demeanor was softened by the tranquility of the moment. For once, the burden of his long life seemed to ease, if only slightly.
After quenching his thirst, Sunghoon splashed some of the cool water onto his face, the chill awakening his senses even more.
He placed his phone lying on a dead tree stump nearby, an idea popping up in his mind.
Feeling a bit more adventurous, Sunghoon waded into the river, the water lapping at his calves as he squatted near a deeper section. He splashed water onto his hair, letting it run down his face and neck until he was drenched and dripping.
He turned to look at Sunoo, who was still dry and standing on the riverbank, lost in thought. A mischievous grin spread across Sunghoon's face.
Without warning, he scooped up a large handful of water and flung it at Sunoo, soaking the lower half of the vampire's clothing.
Sunoo's eyes widened in surprise, but a playful glint quickly appeared in them. He retaliated with a splash of his own, and within moments, the two were engaged in a full-blown water fight.
They laughed and shouted, the sound of their playful battle echoing through the quiet woods. The air was filled with the sound of splashing water, their laughter, and the occasional gasp when one managed to drench the other.
