Marcy and Anne made it to her house for their sleepover after a long walk of silence between the two girls. Marcy wanted to hold Anne's hand the whole walk there but also knew she couldn't.She was in the way of them doing anything touchy because she didn't want her crush to get bigger. Pushing herself away was her only way she knew how to make it so Anne didn't find out, but oh frog she did not think about how that might affect things between the two.
They arrived at the door which Anne opened. The Planters peeped out to look, only expecting to see Anne. Their faces lit up as since Marcy and Anne together.
They thought they were finally dating after those long days of Anne being stressed out over it.
"Oh my frog! Are you guys together?!" Sprig ran over, hopping up and down to show his clear excitement.
They both blushed hearing that question, their faces both heating up more and more just thinking about one day they could actually be together.
"Calm down, Sprig. They probably don't want to admit it at first, that's okay. We'll just watch the love from afar." Hop Pop said, coming up to Sprig with a smirk on his face.
Polly hopped over too, chiming in. "Romance is ew. But good for you two. I just can't relate. Gross."
Marcy wasn't embarrassed or uncomfortable by the way the frogs assumed they were together. She was actually glad and pleased some other people saw the two of them perfect for eachother. Maybe Anne just never sees it that way. She knew she'd never be the one anyway.
Marcy glanced over at Anne, trying to tell her to say something since she didn't want to make a bad impression on her crush's family.
Anne knew the look she gave her was telling her to speak up so she nodded at Marcy before turning to the Planters with Sprig and Hop Pop's eyes lighting up.
"Guys, we aren't dating!!" That sure killed off the smiles the two frogs had on their faces. "But, you are perfect for eachother! I mean I know it might be hard, but you should say how you reall-"
Anne covered his mouth really quickly as her face burned a maroon red. "What he meant to say was how much I love you as a friend!! Yup!" She nervously laughed, uncovering his mouth.
Marcy's face was redder than a tomato at this point. "Oh, that's okay. I love you too. As a friend of course.." Silence lingered in the room after that all happened. More and more awkwardness grew before Marcy cut it off.
"So uh, Anne.. Can we go to your room?" Anne got relieved the silence was broken as Marcy spoke. "Yeah, this way." She leaded the way to her home.
Somehow the way Anne looked was.. beautiful. The stern look she had before was wiped off and replaced with slightly still red face. Those dating accusations must have really gotten to her as her face was still tinted red.
She opened up the hatch, entering Anne's bedroom. Marcy immediately flopped onto Anne's bed. She was very tired after all of that stress she had been having today.
"Tired?" The girl sat on the floor next to her bed where Marcy was laying down at.
"Yup. Well, kind of? It's more of a exhausted feeling than sleepy." She rolled over onto her back and looked up at the ceiling.
