"God, it reeks." You had barely stepped into the building when the stench of Fazbear Fright assaulted your nose.
The outside of the attraction seemed normal for the most part but the inside wasn't what you thought it was going to look like at all. The walls were deteriorated beyond what you'd expect from a regular horror attraction. Paint peeled down the walls and floor tiles were either chipped or just completely missing. The door closed behind you, throwing you into a dimly lit maze. The overhead lights were on but didn't help you much with finding your way down the halls. Looking at them closer you noticed that, to add to the overall atmosphere of the place, someone seemed to have added colored cellophane over the lights.
That definitely can't be safe if those lights generate heat, you thought to yourself.
You briefly considered how many other safety hazards littered the place and if you should just turn around and leave while you still had your life intact. Unfortunately, you couldn't unless you wanted to spend another month or two scrambling to try and find a job within your field. You were lucky this one even hired you, though, judging from your surroundings, maybe they were lucky you agreed to work for them.
When you had graduated with your bachelors in engineering, specifically in mechatronics, you had expected to find a position quickly after moving back home. That hadn't been the case however. Living in a small area had made it much more difficult to find a position that was part of your field. It didn't help that any place that could hire you refused due to your lack of working experience. You had handed out your resume to so many potential employers that when you heard back from Fazbear Fright, you had to quickly research who they were to make sure you wouldn't embarrass yourself during the interview.
Not like you needed to though. There wasn't much of an interview to prepare for. You were called by a guy who sounded much too casual to own his own business and were asked about your classroom experience in robotics before being told that you had the job. He told you that you would meet him on your first night, telling you to show up around eleven in the evening, and that the two of you could go over the job's details then. The speed of it all seemed sketchy. You almost declined but you didn't. The pay was decent enough and you hoped that this could be the experience that would get your foot into other, better, doors.
You had shown up slightly earlier than told, eager to make a good first impression and to allow yourself time to find the building. It was a good idea too as you found yourself confused by the twists and turns of the horror attraction. The halls seemed to flow in one direction but you couldn't shake the feeling that you were in the wrong location.
Your hand lightly brushed against the wall as you turned a corner. Your view suddenly got blocked off, nearly causing you to jump out of your skin. Standing before you, backlit by the sickly, neon green lights, was a tall rabbit animatronic that was posed to look as though it was walking down the hall. It was the first real animatronic you had seen on your way in. The other decorations were just masks, creepy children drawings, and old party decor.
I guess the rest are stored somewhere else until they're fixed up.
Looking at the one before you however showed that you were going to have your work cut out for you. It was practically falling apart before your eyes. Rusted and jagged edges outlined the holes that littered the body of the animatronic. Its right arm was hanging limp at its side and it was missing part of an ear. You almost felt sad that it was left in such a state.
Before you could look closer at the rabbit, a figure rounded the corner on the other side of the hall, waving at you with more enthusiasm than you thought could exist in such a place like this one. The other odd detail about them that caught your interest was that they had a dark blue telephone in place of their head.
