Ara sat in the same park as five years ago with her
favorite book.
People said, "Don't fall in love in 2019."
They said that later, your feelings will be eternal for
that person.
On August 15, 2019, Ara still remembered the date
when the universe first brought her and Shan together.
She smiled as she recalled the moment when they
both pursued their dreams. Suddenly, a little boy
approached her.
"Aunty, I want that, can I?" said the little boy,
pointing to the candy Ara was carrying. Ara looked at
the little boy, whose small face and dimples reminded
her of Shan.
"This kid looks just like Shan," murmured Ara.
"You can take this," said Ara with a smile, handing
over the candy.
"Thank you, beautiful aunty," said the boy.
"Are you alone, dear?" Ara asked.
"No, that's my mom, dad, and my twin sister," said
the boy, pointing to a couple in front of him.
A couple was cleaning their daughter's shoes, which
were soiled with mud. Her mother put the shoes back on. Ara didn't see the couple's faces clearly, but she
could tell they were very romantic.
"Ari, come here, son," the boy's father him.
The little boy immediately ran to his father, not
forgetting to thank Ara for giving him candy. Ara
returned the gesture with a smile. Ara watched the
boy run off and talk to his father. Soon the father and
the boy walked up to Ara, getting closer, and Ara saw
his face clearly.
"Shan?" Ara murmured.
The man was getting closer to Ara; his face was very
clear, the face she had missed for 5 years, the face that
had once filled the void of Ara's life. Ara had truly
missed that face.
"Excuse me, my son said you gave him candy earlier.
I'll return it. Sorry, my son was not polite," said the
man, smiling and showing his dimples.
"Did he forget me?" Ara murmured.
Ara continued to watch his face, not realizing that he
was calling her repeatedly.
"Hello?" the man said, waving his hand in front of
Ara's face. Ara immediately woke up from her
reverie.
"Ah yes, it's okay. He's just a kid. I'm sincere; it's
okay," replied Ara with a smile. "Oh, I see. Thank you very much," the man said.
"Wait, your name is Shan, isn't it?' asked Ara,
dispelling her curiosity.
"Yes, I'm Shan. Sorry, did we know each other
before? Only the people closest to me call me Shan;
others call me Chris,
" said the man at length,
"Ah yes, we were friends back then; maybe you
forgot," said Ara.
"Oh, I'm sorry, because I forgot my memory. I had an
accident 5 years ago, and my wife helped me; she
took care of me until I recovered, so she's the only
one I remember,
" said the man.
"An accident five years ago? Did he have an accident
when he made an appointment for dinner?" Ara
murmured.
Many questions crossed Ara's mind; she was really
confused by the situation.
"I'm sorry, but I need to go because my wife is
waiting for me over there. Maybe next time we can
talk. Thanks for the sweets," said the man, quickly
leaving Ara's place.
The man went back to his harmonious little family,
and they soon moved away from the park. Their backs
were getting further away, leaving Ara alone, who
was still busy with thousands of questions in her
mind. Flashback on...
After replying to Ara's message, Shan immediately
drove to the flower shop. Previously, Shan had also
prepared a diamond ring to propose to Ara. Yes, Shan
was going to propose to Ara that night. He lied to Ara
and said that he had business; in fact, he was
preparing for the special moment he had been waiting
for all this time. Shan prepared everything, from the
ring to the bouquet to the gift.
"Excuse me, I'd like to pick up the bouquet order on
behalf of Chris," Shan said when he arrived at the
flower shop.
"Yes, sir, just a moment," said the beautiful lady who
turned out to be the owner of the flower shop; her
name was Kia.
While waiting, Shan looked around the shop. There
were so many beautiful flowers there, but Shan still
ordered new flowers according to his request, 100 red
roses.
"This is the flower; oh yes, there is a discount voucher
because you are my first buyer," said Kia happily.
"Oh, this is a new opening, huh?" asked Shan while
accepting the voucher paper.
"Yes, sir, I just opened four days ago, so not many
people know; you happen to be the first person to
order flowers here." Kia said "Oh, okay, then, thank you; the flowers are very
pretty; you're very good at arranging them," said
Shan, praising Kia's skills.
"Thank you for the compliment, sir." Kia said while
blushing.
Actually, from the beginning of Shan's arrival, Kia
had been interested in Shan, but she did not dare to
approach him because Shan said he would propose to
a woman who Kia assumed was Shan's lover, so she
could only love Shan in silence.
It's said "On earth, there is always someone who can
only be admired but not owned."
"Then I'll excuse myself and thank you again for the
voucher." Shan said before leaving Kia alone.
Kia continued to stare at Shan's back as she slowly
moved away to cross to the other side. Suddenly, a car
sped up from the opposite direction and hit Shan. Kia
saw the incident from her shop window. She panicked
and immediately ran outside. Kia found Shan lying on
the road with blood on his head. She immediately
called an ambulance.
Shan was lying in a hospital bed with a bandage on
his head. He had just woken up from a coma.
"Shan, you've come to your senses. Thank goodness."
Kia said anxiously.
"Where am I? What happened?" asked Shan in
confusion. "You had an accident. You were hit by a car while
crossing the road," Kia said, explaining everything.
"I don't remember anything," Shan said.
"That's normal. You have amnesia due to a hard blow
to the head." Kia said.
Shan felt panicked and confused. He couldn't
remember who he was, where he lived, or who the
people around him had been.
"Who am I? Who are you?" Shan asked. Kia smiled
gently.
"My name is Kia, the one who found you during the
accident. And... I am your girlfriend." Said Kia, lying.
Shan was surprised. He couldn't believe that she had
a lover.
"A girlfriend? But I don't remember," Shan said while
trying to remember.
"I know. But I will always be here for you, to help you
remember everything." Kia said. Shan tried to
remember everything, but he could only remember
vaguely.
He felt frustrated and sad because he couldn't
remember his past.
"I want to remember everything. I want to know who
I really am," Shan said. Kia always encouraged Shan.
She was confident that Shan would soon recover and
remember everything. Flashback off...
Kia was aware of Ara's attitude and continued to pay
attention to Shan, but she did not want to bother her.
"The past is always behind. Humans shouldn't bother
to make room for it, anymore, right?" Kia muttered.
On the other hand, Shan continued to think about Ara.
Yes, Shan did remember everything, but he chose to
remain silent to protect the feelings of his wife, Kia.
To be honest, Shan missed Ara; he wanted to hug
Ara's body because, for him, Ara's hug was the most
comfortable hug. Shan looked at Kia, his wife.
"But, even if you're the wrong person, it's nice to have
feelings like this for you," said Shan silently.
He knew that Kia was lying, but he knew that Kia also
genuinely loved him, and they even had adorable
twins, Ariando and Arabella. Unbeknownst to Kia,
Shan had named his daughter after his first love,
Arabella Adinda.
"No matter how it ends, it's nice to know you, Ara.
There is always love for humans. All will have their
happiness; I hope you find that happiness soon." Shan
said it from the bottom of his heart.
