LAYTON

So, I agreed to the second date that Harry asked me on. And now I was at his house. He didn’t tell me what we would be doing, but he said to dress comfortably. So, here I am with sweatpants and a baggy shirt.

“H! I’m here!” I yelled when I opened his front door.

“I’m in the kitchen!” he yelled back to me.

Shutting the door behind me, I set my bag down, kicking my shoes off, and I head to the kitchen. Once there, I see Harry stirring something on the stove.

“Dinner is almost done,” he said, walking over to pull me into a hug. “How was your day?” He asked.

“It was alright,” I shrugged. “I got puked on at work, the usual,”

“That sounds like a really great day,” he joked. “I'm glad you agreed on a second date,” He changed the subject.

“What exactly do you have planned?” I asked, leaning against the counter as he continued cooking. “All you told me was to dress comfy, so here I am in sweats with no clue what we're doing?”

“I planned to make you dinner, set up some blankets and pillows in the living room, and watch movies all night,” he explained, turning the burner off on the stove. “How does that sound?”

“That sounds like something I needed. It sounds fun. Thanks for doing this,” I said, watching him make up two plates of food.

“Of course,” he smiled. “I’m sorry we can’t do anything out in public or anything. I don’t want us to get caught together and have to make up some kind of story about us. This may be different than you're used to, but it may have to be like this for the time being,”

“You don’t have to explain anything. To be honest, I like being in more than being in public all of the time. If we ever decide to see where an actual relationship goes, then we can talk about going public with it. Maybe your fans won’t suspect anything about us being together because I’m friends with Gem,” I shrug.

“Thanks for agreeing to tonight,” he smiled. “And thanks for understanding,”

“Free food is free food,” I laughed as I followed him to the living room with both of our plates of food.

“I should’ve known,” he laughed. He sat down on the floor, setting both plates on the coffee table.

“I’m ready for your presentation on the meal,” I said, pulling my knees up to my chest. “Just like you did when we were kids,”

“That phase has been long gone,” he laughed. “No presentation for you today. Sorry, Lay,”

“Can I at least know what everything is?” I ask, even though it's quite clear to see what it was.

“I made some fettuccine with garlic bread. I've even got some wine in the kitchen if you're up for it,” he suggests.

“I'm always up for wine,”

“So what is our first movie going to be for the night?” Harry asked as he sat down two glasses of wine in front of us. “Or would you like to talk while we eat?”

“We can talk while we look for something to watch,” I suggested.  “Which streaming services do you have? Or do you just watch what's on TV?” I teased.

“A little bit of both, actually,” he answered. “Don't think I don't realize that you're teasing me either. Lay. I've known you for so long, I know you like playing games on me like this,” he smiled as he clicked on Netflix. “What kind of movie do you want to watch?”
