^these are the shelves of photos that Layton has in her living room. Ignore the stairs in the photo, Layton doesn't have an upstairs in her apartment

LAYTON

"Do you remember all of the sleepovers we've had in this room?" I ask Gemma when I see her coming up behind me from the mirror.

"Do I remember?" she laughed. "Which time? We were almost never without each other for years,"

"I wish I could go back to when I still lived here," I sighed as I began looking through my old vanity desk.

What used to be my old room is now just a simple guest room. There is a queen sized bed dressed in white sheets and blankets with two nightstands on either side, a mirror in the corner and a small vanity desk.

When I lived here, I think this room had a lot more life. I had colorful sheets with a matching comforter, a mirror with lights around it on the desk where I would do my makeup, and the walls were covered with various photos and posters. The room might have felt like a lot when I lived here, but I'm noticing that the room just screamed me every where you would look.

Now, I lived in my own apartment. It's filled with little things all over that just feel like me instead of being cramped into one small room.

I have shelves up in my living room that have framed photos sitting on them. My dad and step-mother have one of their own. My beautiful mother. That shelf makes me sad and happy at the same time. I'm happy that I get to look at her every day, but sad that she isn't here in person.

Anne and Robin had managed to have their own shelf as well. They are apart of my family in some way so of course they needed a special spot in my living room. Harry and Gemma are also on that shelf along with the two of them.

Right now my favorite shelf is the one that is filled with photos of Silas, Ellie and of course little Cade. I'm gonig to need to make room on that shelf for the new little one that is going to be coming soon. A small smile crept on my lips.

Gem definitely noticed as she smiled as well. "What are you so happy about?" she asked.

"I'm just thinking about the fact that I'm gonna need to change up one of my shelves in my living room once Ellie and Silas have their new baby,"

"I bet it will look so cute," she stated. "You're apartment looks absolutely amazing, so adding more photos will make it look more like you,"

"Thanks Gem,"

"Remember when you were I think 17 and we had a sleepover at my house and we were talking about each of us getting married and what we wanted that to look like?" she asked. "I'm pretty sure that Michal is the one that I'm gonna get married to, but what about you?" she asked. I could tell she wanted to know about how that date with Harry went. The first one that is because she doesn't even know about the second one we already had at his house.

"I don't want to talk about it," I said, shutting it down immediately. "Do you still remember everything that I said about my potential future wedding?"

"All the way down to the small details," she nodded. "I always remember stuff about you Layton. I would be a terrible best friend if I didn't,"

"I can't wait to get married one day," I said, flopping down onto my blue and pink blanket.
