Disclaimer: Mo Dao Zu Shi and The Untamed do not belong to me. The settings, characters, and plot belong, respectively, to Mo Xiang Tong Xiu and the screenwriters of The Untamed. Here, only the plot of this fanfiction and my four OCs, Huang Minghui / Lan Minghui, Lan Biyun, Li Xingsi / Wei Xingsi, and Bai Yilian / Nie Yilian, are my creations. And an important reminder that this ISN'T REAL; please value your lives and do not try to get hit by a car to get this sort of adventure.

Early the next morning, Wei Xingsi dragged herself out of bed, a voice of complaint ringing in the space of her mind. Changing from her sleeping robes to a set of white robes with lavender-violet decor for the day, Wei Xingsi tidied up, combing her messy, dark reddish-brown hair into a half-ponytail and pinning it up with her mother's phoenix hairpin.

During the first day of classes, Wei Wuxian, as expected, refused to pay attention to Lan Qiren, earning himself almost a quiz. It wasn't until the final one, which he brought up demonic cultivation, when his answer was deemed incorrect and outrageous.

As Wei Wuxian let out a yelp of surprise as a book was hurled in his direction, Wei Xingsi just sighed, partly in amusement, partly out of endearment, and partly out of exasperation. Living with him for ten years had gotten her used to it. As her brother made his way out of the room and to the library pavilion, she caught his eye and whispered, "Good luck."

***************

After what felt like hours, class was dismissed.

"Finally," Wei Xingsi mumbled, rubbing her eyes and stretching as she got up to her stiff feet and began to pack up her stuff. In all honesty, with how long-winded and slow-paced Lan Qiren had been, Wei Xingsi wasn't really sure if she managed to learn or remember anything at all.

How the hell do Biyun, Minghui, and all the other Lan disciples manage to deal with this on a daily basis?

"Urgh, that was so tiring!" Nie Huaisang wailed, his face sinking into his hands as he, Wei Xingsi, Nie Yilian, and Jiang Cheng exited the Lanshi together. "How do all the Lan disciples manage to deal with this on a daily basis?"

"Exactly!" Wei Xingsi cried, feeling euphoric at the knowledge that someone agreed with her. "How has the Gusu Lan Sect not died out from Grandmaster Lan's boring lectures yet? Seriously, his lectures could be a way of torture or execution."

"To be able to listen for that long is a skill," Jiang Cheng insisted in a tone that was a purposefully failed attempt to sound dignified and magnanimous.

"Shut up, Jiang Wanyin," Wei Xingsi snorted. "Stop acting like you're oh so great and dignified! You lack that skill, too!"

Jiang Cheng elbowed his shijie as a way of revenge. "At least I'm better at it than this one over here!"

He pointed at Wei Wuxian, who had just joined their conversation.

Wei Wuxian laughed lightly. "At least I know what I'm doing."

Wei Xingsi rolled her eyes, patting her brother on the shoulder. Deciding to be nice for once, she said, "Agreed. You are indeed capable, even though you can sure be annoying as fuck about it."

Upon hearing Wei Xingsi swear, Nie Huaisang let out an exaggerated, dramatic gasp. "Oh my gosh! Wei Xingsi! Swearing is forbidden in the Cloud Recesses! Go copy down the rules one hundred times!"

A moment of silence fell upon the group as they side-eyed each other, not saying anything. A moment later, they all burst out laughing.

As they calmed down, Wei Xingsi heard her brother say, "Zewu-Jun, where are you going with all these disciples?"
