Startled, Veneer kept his back towards the door as he held Floyd's figure close to his chest, he could hear his heart beating rapidly and Floyd could only pat and stroke his chest with his palms to soothe him. He breathed in and just as he was about to turn around, he was hugged from behind, lifted and spun around,
"Vennyyyyy~!!" The voice squealed in laughter as Veneer cried out in surprise as he held Floyd closer and once he was put down, he quickly hid Floyd in his hair.
Floyd held onto the strands of green locks, hidden and tucked away, even using his own hair to cover and blend in.
Who was this? Did he know Venner enough to be lifting and spinning him around like some doll? And what did he call him? "Venny"? What kind of name is that? Floyd couldn't help this ugly feeling from crawling into his heart, he didn't know it well enough to know what it is, but it certainly didn't feel pretty.
Veneer turned around and was met with familiar purple eyes, well eye to be more exact, along with blonde hair fading into blue tips, it was Kid Ritz! The famous interviewer that promoted Velvet and Veneer a while ago, he stood there in his normal clothing attire, a white jumpsuit with colorful splotches littering it in circular patterns. Ever since that first interview, both he and Veneer kept in touch and often chatted online whenever new trends arose, they'd both gossip and giggle over them and converse if it was worth publicizing on Kid Ritz's website. He was the first and only genuine first friend Veneer has made since their fame, which often gathered him a rough crowd of users and abusers that would simply pretend to be friends and take picture with Veneer just to simply boost their internet presence and later dump Veneer once he's done his job.
But not Kid Ritz, regardless of his massive following on social media and at public events, he was often humbled and kept himself true and real to his character. Veneer found this out himself once the cameras were put away and he'd continue to be his normal and spontaneous self. After the interview was over, Ritz stopped him and asked for his socials, Veneer had assumed it was to simply tag him in a photo, which was partly true but once he sent the first message, Veneer was hooked on his genuine interest and funny cat gifs he'd sent.
But Floyd did not like this guy.
Floyd would consider himself to be an easy-going guy, someone who's willing to like and respect anyone who comes his way. Sure he may seem timid, but once you start talking to him, he becomes an open-book, someone you'd talk to to ease the troubles you may be having at that very moment. Hell, Floyd may even say that if had met Velvet and Veneer under different circumstances, he may have been able to befriend them. Ok, not with Velvet but definitely with Veneer.
He peeked through the strands of hair to take a good look at him, he couldn't see Veneer's cute face but thankfully he was facing the mirror, so he was able to see both faces while hidden. This "Kid" Ritz character chatted away with Veneer, asking him general questions such as how his 'day' has been, if he was tired, if he had any new songs written, and if he'd like to go to dinner with him and-
Wait.
What did he say?
What. DId. He. Say.
"Awe, gee Ritz," Veneer chuckled as he placed a nervous hand on the side of his neck while looking to the side in, "That's real sweet but.."
'Yes Veneer! You tell him!'
He was cut off by playful chucking, Veneer looked back a bit confused till Kid Ritz placed both his hands on his shoulders. Floyd was so close to pouncing on him at that moment.
