The trip to the border separating Mount Rageous and the outside world, the ride there went by smoothly but it did take a long time with the many loops and changes in roads, the roads slowly changed from sleek and red smooth roads to much courser grounds as the 'wheels' of the car shifted to accommodate. It took a while to reach their destination, close to an hour and all Veneer and Floyd could do was talk to the driver, who was a nice older man and disregarded the fact that Veneer was a popstar. This is mostly due to him being much older and didn't catch up with the latest music as much as the younger generation.

They enjoyed each other's company during the whole ride and once they reached the gates, he pulled over as much as he could, he wished them well and gave Veneer a certain look as he glanced at Floyd, to which Veneer blushed slightly at his implication. They waved him off as he drove off,

Floyd looked at Veneer from his shoulder with a confused look,

"What was that about..?"

"...he knows."

Floyd thought about it before he finally got it, and he started chuckling about it as Veneer pulled out his glasses from the side pocket as the night sky was now fully littered in stars instead of the glaring sun. He put them on and started to walk toward the gate which were noticeably a bit rigid and worn down, the metal on most of it has rusted and a sign above it read,

'Now entering Mount Rageous! Where the Party never stops!'

Veneer chuckled at the motto while Floyd only shuttered, greatly bothered by the sentence, he began to walk through the gate and noticed the shift between the two roads as he stood a fresh patch of grass and looked back at the gravel behind him. He sighed before continuing walking, noticing how the grass beneath him was soft to step on, he also looked around at all the bushes and dirt road in front of him.

"Veneer, have you never seen grass?" (Floyd should definitely touch some, perverted mf)

"Uh, not like this...it's all so untamed..." he brushed his fingers against the tall grass and noticed few fireflies sprout out, it made him jump back a bit as Floyd jumped down,

He walked a bit forwards as Veneer crouched down onto the grass, he looked around as the fireflies surrounded him and glowed, he tried to count them all in his head as he turned in all directions underneath the night sky. In that moment Floyd couldn't help but feel proud, for himself and for Veneer, he saw how curious Veneer was about everything outside of Mount Rageous and how the comforts of his home have really fascinated him such as the fireflies he let land on his hands. He saw just how peaceful and relaxed he finally looked after all the many challenges he had to face against his sister, and now he gets to enjoy himself and live a new life with him. The thought brought a warm feeling in his chest as he felt his own tail agree with the sentiment, moving swiftly side to side in excitement,

"Sweetheart, do you think we could keep walking? We still have plenty of time to explore around but I would really like to get you somewhere more secure.." Floyd commented as he stepped forwards and stepped onto his lap, to which he gathered him between his hands and stood up,

"Of course..! Just let me.." he placed Floyd on his shoulder once more before brushing off the grass stuck to his sweatpants, he walked forwards and followed the dirt road, he was amused and interested in all the small creatures they passed, along with the flowers they spotted in the night, it was a bit dark but thanks to Veneer's nocturnal lifestyle, his eyes adjusted quite easily as he could see in the dark compared to Floyd who solely relied on the Moon's natural light.

They were both bathed in silence as the reality of being outside Mount Rageous settled in Veneer's mind, he was still partially scared of all the new places he could come across but another part of him felt secured as he had Floyd with him, he knew that if they ran into any trouble he'd still have Floyd with him to help him get through it,
