The smell of parchment paper and ink were stinging my nose as I hunched over my paper. My quill was scratching the page as I scribbled out notes as fast as I could while Professor Flitwick was talking. This day was droning on and on and it was nothing but theory. My hand was going to cramp up soon and stop functioning if I need to pick up another quill. I had double potions today, Transfiguration, and now Charms. Thankfully this is my last class for the day because I honestly can't wait to do something other than cram copious amounts of knowledge in my head.

"This is going to be on your exam so I hope you took notes to review them for the test. Now we only have fifteen minutes left so we'll wrap up here, feel free to talk amongst yourselves while we wait for the clock tower to chime." Professor Flitwick concluded in his spiel.

I sat up in my seat as I rubbed my wrist whilst looking around the classroom bored. Everyone was either talking to their seat mate or packing up their bags.

Quidditch tryouts this morning went well despite the scare that Sirius gave me, and James annoying me about dating boys. Charlie will probably have the results up by tomorrow morning of who's going to be joining us on the team. Currently the team was James and I as chasers, Sirius as one of the beaters, and Charlie our seeker. Us four really work well together so I'm nervous to see who will be joining us this year.

Please please please let there be a cute boy. I need some fresh eye candy to look at during Quidditch practice. Not the shaggy headed mess that is Sirius Black. Why did he compliment me today? He's never done that. I know it was genuine too because he's never spoken to me like that before. I said, praying to Merlin in my head.

Lily tapped me on my shoulder, breaking me out of my train of thought. Lily and I always sat next to each other in Charms. "Hey missy, whatcha thinking about in there?" She said poking me on the side of the head. I laughed, swatting her hand away from my head. "Nothing, just thinking about something that happened this morning."

"Oh? Something good or bad?" Lily said, looking at me curiously. "Something confusing, more like. I can't tell if it's a good or a bad thing. The more I think about it the more my brain starts to hurt." I told her rubbing the side of my head.

"What happened? Are you okay with sharing?" Lily said, looking at me concerned. "Yes but we have to be quiet about it so lean in. I don't want Sirius, James, or Remus hearing." I said to her leaning forward, lowering my voice towards the end of my sentence. Immediately intrigued, she followed along.

"So basically," I started off with an intake of my breath, whispering. "I was doing laps around the Quidditch Pitch and I got really into it and super focused. And because I was so focused I couldn't hear them calling for me so I could come down so we could start tryouts. So... they sent Sirius up to come and get me down and he literally scared the shit out of me. I yelled at him, because he had literally just put himself in my path and if I didn't see him in time I would've just flown into him, injuring us both! You know?" She nodded in agreement.

"So, I asked him what the hell he was thinking doing that? And he responded saying 'I was thinking that I needed to get you to come down and that you wouldn't hurt me because you're a talented Quidditch player." I recalled, using air quotes. Lily's eyes widened at this covering her mouth.

"So yeah, not sure what the hell that was but he basically complimented me. Which he's never done before." I finished, folding my arms over myself. "Oh Merlin, I can't believe he said that! That is not what I was expecting at all. What happened after? Did you say anything back to him?" She questioned me, still whispering.

"I couldn't even reply back! By the time I processed what he said, he had already flown away and was practically on the ground. Then tryouts commenced as normal." I said back, still making sure to keep my voice low. "And he wasn't being sarcastic like he usually is with you or anything?" I shook my head no before saying, "Definitely not, the way he said it was just... I dunno... I can't explain it, he's never spoken to me like that. I know he meant it. I dunno how to explain how but I just know."
