Y/N stirred in bed, the remnants of a vivid dream still lingering in her mind. She couldn't quite put her finger on it, but the dream had felt so real, as if she was living it all over again. She shook her head, trying to dislodge the memories, and swung her legs over the side of the bed.

As she sat there, the dream began to come back to her in fragments. She was walking through a field with someone, their hand clasped tightly in hers. The sun was shining down on them, casting a warm glow over everything. They were laughing, y/n face alight with joy. And Y/N knew, with a certainty that went beyond the dream, that the person walking beside her was someone important.

But that was impossible. Y/N never even saw the persons face. whenever they'd turn to face her their face would morph. almost as if she wasn't meant to see them,  And yet, here they were, appearing in her dreams as if no time had passed at all.

Y/N felt a pang in her chest, a longing for something she couldn't quite name. She got up and walked to the kitchen, making herself a cup of coffee and trying to push the dream out of her mind. But no matter how hard she tried, she couldn't shake the feeling that she was forgetting something important.

As the day went on, Y/N found herself growing more and more distracted. She had always prided herself on her focus and determination, but now she couldn't seem to concentrate on anything for more than a few minutes at a time. She would find herself staring off into space, lost in thought, only to realize that she had no idea what she was thinking about.

That night, Y/N had another dream. This time, she and the faceless figure were sitting on the bonnet of a car she didn't recognise, watching the sun set over the horizon. They were cuddled up together, their bodies molded to each other as if they had been made to fit together. Y/N could feel the warmth of their body, the softness of her hair, and she couldn't help but lean in closer.

But then Y/N woke up, and she was alone in her bed once again. She sat up, her heart racing, and tried to remember every detail of the dream. She could still feel the phantom sensation of the woman's arms around her, and she couldn't shake the feeling that she had lost something precious.

Days turned into weeks, and the dreams persisted. No matter how hard Y/N tried to ignore them, they refused to go away. She began to feel as if she was living a double life, one where she was alone and one where she was with the woman. And each time she woke up, she felt a sense of loss more profound than the last.

Y/N confided in one of her close friends about the dreams after she had decided that she couldn't take it anymore. She couldn't keep living in this limbo, half in love with a woman she couldn't remember.

Alessia reluctantly made an appointment with the head doctor who she believed had performed the procedure, hoping that he could help Y/N by giving Alessia some guidance on how to handle the situation.

When she arrived at the doctor's office, Alessia felt an overwhelming sense of unease. She had never been there, and the sterile white walls seemed to close in around her. she sat for a while dazed. Wondering how it must of felt for Y/N to want to be here. To want to forget everything. The doctor greeted her warmly, but she couldn't shake the feeling that something was off.

'I know you have a lot of confidentiality considerations but my friend, Y/N L/N, had a procedure with you a few weeks ago and recently she has been having these dreams,' Alessia said, her voice barely above a whisper. 'About Leah. I don't understand why. I thought she had erased all memories of her.'

The doctor looked at her for a long moment, his eyes unreadable. 'The procedure isn't always one hundred percent effective,' he said finally. 'Sometimes, fragments of memories can linger. But there's a way to fix that.'

Alessia felt a wave of relief wash over her.She hoped Y/N would remember Leah for a while, she still hoped that but the risk was too high. Her life could be in danger if she did. She had been hoping that there was a solution, something that would help Y/N move on once and for all, Y/N wanted this for a reason. 'What does she need to do?' she asked.

'We can perform another procedure,' the doctor said. 'This one will be more extensive, but it should take care of the problem. We'll just need to erase any remaining memories of Leah, and then Y/N can start fresh.'

Alessia nodded, She didn't want Y/N to live in this dream world anymore. She wanted her to be free of Leah, once and for all. She wanted her to be safe.

Alessia, with the help of Beth and Viv, had come up with a plan. She would add the medication to Y/N's drink when she went over that night and Beth and Viv would come when she was sleeping to be sure everything was okay.

With Y/N passed out, the team from Sunshine Inc arrived at her apartment. they spoke to each other quietly, conversation flowing about how the procedure needs to be perfect. How they couldn't afford another slip up. They asked the girls to leave so that they could get to work.

The procedure was quick and painless, just like the last time.

Y/N felt a sense of loss as she woke up the next day, unsure of how she got into the bed. Unsure of where Alessia had disappeared to. Confused this time of why it seemed her dreams felt empty. Unaware that the lover in her dreams hadn't visited her that night.

The dreams were gone.

This time indefinitely.

As she lay in bed, something felt different. The dreams hadn't returned, but it was something else. Y/N couldn't quite put her finger on it, but she felt a sense of emptiness, stronger than the past few weeks, as if a part of her had been lost forever.
