[TW: mentions / depictions of bullying]

I never really enjoyed the company of my fellow classmates (it was mutual of course, they didn't like me either), but I especially hated how they'd snicker and poke fun at me everywhere I went.

But then, on one terrible day in second grade, they just had to ruin school for the rest of my life.

*students chatter in the hallway, lined up at the door to the playground*

"Oh, hey [redacted], you should open the door for us since you're such a loser, maybe we'll be friends with you if you do~" (they just loved to make fun of me at any chance they had)

Of course I opened the door, I was desperate for somebody, anybody, to be nice to me. But when everybody started laughing and snickering..

"Ewwww, she touched the doorknob! Hey dummie, don't you know that booger boy touched that?"

"Ooo, she's got the booger touch! Booger girl!"

                                      "Snot lady!"

This is possibly the most important thing that happened that year

This is possibly the most important thing that happened that year. In case you're curious, my class had watched "diary of a wimpy kid" the previous day, and made up their own version of the cheese touch. It was completely, and utterly, idiotic.

And that's when the bullying really took off. From that day on, they refused to touch me because they'd "get the booger touch". If I was on one side of the hallway, they'd intentionally walk on the other side. In fact, many of them would obsessively keep their fingers crossed, that way if i bumped into them it "didn't count".
They treated me like a contagious, diseased, monster.

But that's just the beginning. It gets way, way worse.
