"Oliver, let me introduce you to your cabin mates," she said, looking me in the eyes. The four boys slowly get up, still keeping their gaze on my body, making me tug uncomfortably on the hem of my shirt to keep it from clinging to my skin. "Okay Oliver, this is Archer Rivers," she says, pointing to a gorgeous boy with fluffy, pastel blue hair and dark blue, almost black eyes that have gold specks swimming in them.
"H-hello Archer," I say, giving a small nod toward him in greeting before Mrs. Kristy moved on to the next boy. "Alright, this is Cyrus Arrow." She points to the boy beside Archer and.. wow, he is beautiful. He has dark, raven colored hair and speckled, gray eyes that sparkle enough to make anyone swoon right on the spot.
I can see him smile at me slightly and I look away, digging my nails deeper into the already swollen rashes of my hand, slightly drawing blood but not enough to be noticed by any of the intimidating people that are around me "Hello there," he says with a slight accent that I'm not able to recognize. "Uh hi," I say quietly, probably looking like I want to disappear right into the earth where I can spend the rest of my days happily.
"Okay, next up is Nico Vault," she says, pointing to a slightly shorter boy that has almost citrus orange looking hair and mesmerizing crystal blue eyes. "Nice to meet you Oliver," he says, and I almost pass out. His voice is so smooth and silky that if he were to take a career in singing, he would make a fortune out of it. "N-nice to meet you t-too.." I stutter back, mentally cursing myself for stuttering. But my mental swearing doesn't last long, quickly ending when Mrs. Kristy speaks again.
"And the last but not least is Jasper McClain," she introduces, turning her head to the extremely pretty dark-skinned boy with dreadlocks in his hair and little beads sporadically placed around, but that's not the part that makes him pretty. It's the emerald green eyes that he possesses.
"So, new kid, what are you in here for?" He asks me. I freeze up not wanting to answer him. "Now Jasper, let's not question the poor boy just yet," Nico says gently with that silky voice of his, laying a hand on Jasper's shoulder.
I see Jasper flinch a little before looking over to me sheepishly. "Uh- my bad Oliver," he says, putting a hand on his neck and looking down. "Wow, this kid just switched it up real fast," I think before responding to him. "It's okay." I mentally celebrate at the fact that I didn't stutter.
"Uhm w-which bunk is mine?" I ask, looking around. "Oh, it's this one," Archer says, walking over to the bunk that's basically in the middle of all of them. I turn around shakily to get my bags and I see that my mom has already left. I stop moving completely for a moment, tilting my head down, hoping that the others don't see the tears that have begun to form in them. "Hey, are you, okay?" I hear Cyrus whisper and I quickly try to dry up my tears, hoping and praying that my eyes aren't red.
"Uh yeah, I'm f-fine," I manage to get out while stuttering a little. Cyrus nods at my response but the look he is giving me tells me he doesn't believe it. I grab my bags, trying to be careful not to brush against the red rashy spot I made on my hand. I'm praying to anyone that will listen that none of my cabin mates sees it. I walk over to my bed and flop my suitcase on the soft feeling mattress so I can unpack my things into the dresser next to my bed.
I start with shirts and pants before moving to underwear and socks. By the time I'm done, I hear a little bell and see the boys begin walking out of the cabin. Not knowing what to do, I follow them. "Uh.. What does that bell mean?" I ask no one in particular. "It's the bell for a 'sharing circle'" Jasper says sarcastically, adding finger quotes around the words. "W-what?!'' I say a little too loudly because I get a couple looks from people walking along the trail. I hate the way they are staring at me.
I look down toward my stomach and slightly pinch at it. "Are they looking at my stomach?" I think to myself, digging my nails into my arm until I begin bleeding. My breathing begins to pick up slightly. I'm about to have a panic attack. My vision begins getting a little bit cloudy and I subconsciously stop walking. Everything becomes blurry and I can't really tell what is happening. All I know is I feel like I can't breathe, and I can faintly hear someone talking to me.
"He- Hey- Hey! Oliver, are you okay?" I'm barely able to hear what they are saying through the midst of my panic, but I feel someone embrace me, probably trying to calm me down. After a few minutes, I finally begin to calm down enough to actually see who is hugging me.
