"Do you think this dress makes me look fat?"

The girls were at a dress shop on Rodeo Drive, searching for a prom dress for Kelsey, who had decided to go at the last minute. Melanie and Carla joined her, turning the day into a girls' trip. They planned to find Kelsey's dress first, then head to lunch together. Kelsey stood there, awaiting their opinions.

"I like it," Melanie said.

"I think it suits you," Carla added.

Kelsey turned to Aurora, waiting for her reply. Aurora scanned Kelsey in the dress. Something was missing. The color was right, but the style wasn't her. It was too basic. Kelsey was vibrant, and this dress didn't reflect that.

"Aurora?" Kelsey asked.

Just then, Aurora remembered a dress she had seen when they first walked into the store, displayed on a mannequin. "Hold on," she said, heading to the front of the store, leaving the others confused. She asked the saleswoman to take the dress off the mannequin. At first, the woman hesitated, but recognizing Aurora Roberts, she complied.

Aurora returned with a purple dress that was poofy at the bottom. "This one," she said, handing it to Kelsey.

"This one?" Kelsey asked, taking the dress. Aurora nodded.

"Trust me," she said. Kelsey sighed and went into the dressing room. Aurora was confident this dress would suit Kelsey perfectly. She had a good eye for fashion and always knew what would look best on someone.

"We're going to look at some cute handbags," Melanie announced. "Call us when she's out," Carla added before the two girls walked away. Aurora was pleased they were getting along; Carla needed a friend like Melanie, and they seemed to be hitting it off well.

While Kelsey was trying on the dress, Aurora browsed the area near the dressing rooms. As she glanced at a rack of skirts, someone cleared their throat behind her. She turned to see a girl about her age, looking nervous, but not in the usual way people were around Aurora. This girl looked scared.

"Aurora, right?" the girl asked nervously.

"Yes," Aurora replied, confused.

"Hi, I'm Quinn. Sorry to bother you, but I heard you're going to prom with Chad this Saturday," Quinn stated.

"Right. Why?" Aurora asked, now more curious.

"I just wanted to warn you," Quinn said.

"Warn me?" Aurora repeated, confused.

"Chad. He's not who he says he is. He seems perfect, but he's the opposite. He's a cheater," Quinn explained, making Aurora's eyes widen. "I know it's hard to believe, and you probably don't, but I had to warn you," Quinn said before walking away, leaving Aurora in a daze.

Aurora felt a mix of confusion and disbelief. Chad seemed so nice, so respectful. But Quinn's words hinted at a different reality.

"So, what do we think?" Aurora turned to see Kelsey walking out of the dressing room in the dress she had recommended. It was perfect, stunning, and totally her. "It's perfect. It's you," Aurora smiled.

Kelsey, being her best friend for the past year, saw through the smile. "What's wrong?" she asked.

Aurora sighed. "What do you know about the girls Chad has dated?"

__

"Lemme get this straight," Alex began. "You were shopping for dresses, a girl comes up to you, warns you about Chad, and now you two are playing detective?" He asked, sitting on the studio couch next to Luke and Reggie. Once the girls got back, they started searching through the yearbook for the girls Chad had dated throughout high school. After identifying five girls he had definitely dated, they wrote down their names, looked through the phone book, and found their phone numbers. In a way, they were playing detective.
