Chapter 4: Beachside Chaos

Several Months Later

Subaru and his friends stood at the edge of a swirling vortex, remnants of the mysterious Flash Lizard Runner's trail. The creature, a blur of motion, had torn a hole between worlds, pulling them back to Axel.

Kazuma stared at the quest board at the guild, a bewildered expression on his face. "A flying whale?"

"That's all they were talking about when I mentioned the Flash Lizard Runner," Darkness explained, her eyes glinting with interest.

"So creatures like that exist here too?" Emilia asked, her eyes wide with curiosity.

Kazuma shrugged. "Vegetables fly around and Pacific saury can be harvested from fields. Of course, it'd be normal to think even whales can fly."

Megumin, overhearing the conversation, raised an eyebrow. "What are you talking about, Kazuma?"

Aqua joined in, shaking her head. "Whales don't fly. That's common knowledge."

"Oh-really?" Kazuma said sarcastically. "Oh wait, according to my common knowledge, vegetables don't fly either."

Ram, ever the realist, crossed her arms. "Maybe something happened while Rem and the others were transferred to this world?"

"We probably were summoned here by that glowing lizard," she continued.

"We should go and catch it!" Megumin declared, her eyes lighting up. "I can't wait to unleash my explosion magic on them!"

Kazuma sighed. "Yay..."

"Even if we can't find them in time, let's relax by the sea and chill!" Aqua suggested cheerfully.

"That seems to be a good idea," Subaru agreed, nodding.

"I mean, it might have a kraken nearby, but there's no way we would run into one," Aqua added nonchalantly.

"Now that doesn't sound like much of a good idea," Subaru said, his enthusiasm waning.

"If there's a real kraken, I would love to fight it! Come on, let's go!" Darkness urged, her eyes gleaming with excitement. "If I get stuck in its tentacles..."

"Darkness is always the same, huh?" Subaru muttered, shaking his head. "What about you, Beako?"

"I don't think I'm very into it, so just go ahead and do whatever you want," Beatrice replied, flipping through a book.

"Are you sure? Will you be okay?" Subaru asked, concerned.

"Who do you think you're talking to?" Beatrice retorted, not looking up.

"Alright then! Let's go!" Megumin exclaimed, pumping her fist in the air.

By the Sea

"Woah! So this is the sea! It's much bigger than I thought!" Emilia exclaimed, taking in the vast expanse of water in her swimsuit.

"Hang on a sec-don't tell me you guys don't have beaches in your world," Kazuma said, looking puzzled.

"We do, but it's just a big waterfall instead," Subaru explained.

"Is this really the time to talk about stuff like that?" Aqua interjected, her tone exasperated.

"What do you mean?" Subaru asked, confused.

Aqua, now in her swimsuit, pointed at Emilia. "Doesn't Emilia's swimsuit make you feel anything?"

Subaru blushed. "She does! Her swimsuit is perfect! She's truly the E.M.T.!"

"I guess I'll take that as a compliment for now," Emilia said, smiling shyly.

Rem approached, twirling slightly. "Subaru! Rem tried to wear her swimsuit as well-does it suit me?"

"Duh! Of course, it does! It's super cute! Also, it's a nice change from your usual maid outfit," Subaru responded, his eyes sparkling.

"Of course, having a sweet, innocent girl will make anyone smile," Kazuma remarked, a hint of jealousy in his voice. "Subaru, I'm so jealous!"

"What a reaction...maybe I should've rethought changing into my swimsuit," Ram mused, looking at Subaru.

"No way! I'm very happy to be with you today, sister!" Rem said, hugging Ram.

"I see, then I guess I can endure the looks from Barusu and Kazuma for you," Ram replied

" Hey! You look super cute! It's perfect! There I said it!" Subaru shouted

" Everything looks better with me!" Ram smirked

"Time to hunt a whale, huh?" Subaru said, a mix of awe and apprehension in his voice

" Yeah, but how do we even find it?" Asked kazuma

"Come on! Emilia! This is Goddess Splash!" Aqua shouted, splashing water at the whale, as if challenging it.

"Wwaaa!!? Please, Aqua!" Emilia squealed, trying to dodge the water

"know you're aiming at me from behind," Ram said, turning just in time to avoid Aqua's splash.

"You're so amazing, sister! But you know-" Rem said, watching the water fight with admiration

"This is your first time at the beach, right? So let's all have fun!" Aqua said, her enthusiasm infectious

Subaru stood back, watching the chaos unfold. "Everyone is having a super fun time, but all are forgetting about the reason we're here in the first place..."

"Let's just hope no whales pass by us," Kazuma muttered, lying back on his towel.

"Come on! You two! Enjoy yourselves!" Aqua called, splashing them both with water.

"Welp, time to chillax, I guess!" Kazuma said, finally giving in to the beach
