Next day, emilia was already awake, sitting a few feet away with her toes buried in the sand as she gazed out at the ocean. Subaru smiled as he watched her, appreciating the quiet moment before the day’s inevitable chaos began.

“Morning, Emilia,” Subaru greeted, walking over to join her.

She looked up, her face lighting up with a smile. “Good morning, Subaru. Did you sleep well?”

“Like a rock,” Subaru replied, plopping down beside her. “And you?”

Emilia nodded, though her eyes remained fixed on the horizon. “I did. It’s just… this place is so different from our world. It’s beautiful, but I can’t help feeling like we’re still out of place here.”

Subaru followed her gaze, the sunlight reflecting off the water. “Yeah, I get what you mean. It’s like we’re on vacation, but there’s still something hanging over us.”

Just then, a loud yawn interrupted their conversation as Kazuma stumbled out of his makeshift tent, rubbing his eyes. “Morning… or whatever time it is,” he mumbled, looking half-awake.

“Morning, Kazuma,” Subaru said, trying to sound chipper. “You look like you slept on a pile of rocks.”

Kazuma groaned, cracking his neck. “Feels like it. Aqua kept rolling over and kicking me in her sleep. I swear she was dreaming about kicking down doors or something.”

“Aqua being Aqua, huh?” Subaru chuckled. “At least she didn’t sleepwalk into the ocean.”

Kazuma rolled his eyes. “Small mercies.”

Before they could continue their banter, Megumin appeared, her eyes gleaming with excitement. “Kazuma! Subaru! We need to start the day with a bang! How about a morning explosion?”

Subaru waved his hands frantically. “Whoa, whoa! Let’s not blow up the beach first thing in the morning, okay?”

“Agreed,” Kazuma added quickly. “The last thing we need is another giant creature rising from the sea because you decided to wake up with a bang.”

Megumin pouted, crossing her arms. “You’re both no fun. How else are we supposed to know it’s morning?”

“By the sun rising, maybe?” Subaru suggested, grinning.

“That’s boring,” Megumin muttered but relented. “Fine. I’ll save it for later.”

The morning continued with the group gathering for breakfast around a hastily assembled table. Aqua, despite her usual antics, had somehow managed to whip up a surprisingly decent meal, though she made sure to remind everyone of her “divine” cooking skills with every bite they took.

“I must say, this food isn’t half bad,” Ram commented, taking a delicate sip of tea. “I’m surprised, considering who made it.”

“Thank you!” Aqua beamed, ignoring the subtle jab. “It’s made with the love and care of a goddess, after all!”

“Careful,” Kazuma said, smirking. “Too much praise and her head will float away.”

Subaru, sitting next to Rem, couldn’t help but notice the peaceful atmosphere around them. For once, everyone seemed to be getting along without any major incidents.

“This is nice,” Subaru said aloud, his voice filled with contentment. “Just hanging out, enjoying the morning… no monsters, no explosions—”

" Bro- stop raising red flags.." said kazuma.

"Huh?"

A sudden rumbling sound cut him off, followed by the earth trembling beneath them. Everyone froze, exchanging wary glances.
