molly wasn't sure what had happened to change john's mind. she had heard a large crash in the middle of the night, which sent her jumping up, but too tired to worry too much and assuming whatever it was, john had it handled, she had just went back to sleep.
but when she had woken up, or rather impolitely interrupted from her peaceful slumber, john had her bag and a trunk full of whatever waiting at the door.
she hadn't questioned his change in heart as she slung her bag over her shoulder and picked up the handle on one end of the trunk, also throwing in something about how heavy the trunk was and questions of what he had thrown in there.
he didn't answer any of the questions, so she had assumed something had spooked him and he had thrown books upon books in this trunk.
it was bright and early in the morning, the sun still low and the temperature cool. a questionable time for a teenager and a warlock to be carrying a trunk through the woods.
they had been lucky the legends hadn't left for their next trip through time yet, because molly wasn't sure how that would've worked out.
still half asleep, molly hadn't caught onto the murmurs of voices coming from the center of the ship, she hadn't even registered they were on the ship until she had heard:
"...constantine is—"
"tired, hungover, and in need of a stiff one."
molly dropped her grip on the trunk when he stopped walking.
"dealer's choice as to what that's a euphemism for," he said dropping the bag he carried and taking a seat on his trunk.
"he's here," sara finished what she had started saying, looking as confused as the rest.
"yeah, you know, i meant what i said about joining you lot, but then i pictured that same lot squaring off against some of the manky buggers that i've come up against, and i thought, yeah you know what? you're right. you're all bloody doomed without me."
"that is definitely not what happened," molly muttered.
"one aswang will take you down without breaking a sweat," he said, ignoring molly's comment and taking a drink from his flask.
"ha ha! new legends alert! i better go update the chore wheel."
"whoa, whoa, hang on sunshine—"
"you guys have a chore wheel?" molly interrupted, furrowing her brows, "that's very... functional of you."
as long as she's known them, the legends had been the most dysfunctional team in the history of hero teams she had met.
which, counting them, was only two.
"i'm— we're not bloody legends," he finished his statement and continued, "i'm merely offering my services as a consultant—"
"what's the kid here for?" mick grumbled.
molly perked up, "adults love me, i'm very persuasive," she answered. and it was true, adults did seem to love her for whatever reason. they always found her "endearing" and wanted to help her with anything she had asked them for.
it was usually the "puppy dog eyes" she gave them, whatever that meant. she had just been told she had them and those alone made people want to help.
"as i was saying, and as such, i have some stipulations."
molly groaned, dropping her head. always with these "stipulations." she had figured out after her first month with him that it was just a fancy word that probably only british people used for conditions.
