when they had gotten back to the waverider, the first thing molly had done was changed out of the uncomfortable dress and replaced them with her jeans and sweatshirt, and gotten her converse back on instead of the weird, old timey shoes before fighting with the knot on the bonnet to get it out of her hair.
it took her a good five minutes to finally pry her fingernails between the knot to get it undone.
and once she had, she went to go find whoever she could because there was no way she was going to stay alone when there was a murderous fairy godmother and the kid she worked for around.
"molly."
she paused as she past an open door, stepping back to face ray who had prudence standing behind him.
"can you stay with prudence and keep her company?" he asked, glancing back at the girl.
molly raised her eyebrows, "she just tried to kill us and i have to stay with her? alone?"
"she didn't try to kill you, that was the fairy godmother," ray argued, "besides, you're about the same age, you could have something in common."
"she's from the 1600's," molly deadpanned, before rolling her eyes and saying, "and i don't mix well with others. john's words— not mine."
ray scrunched up his face, "what?"
"i'm not a people person."
"you convinced three doctors and two security guards to let you into a psych ward to visit your quote unquote sister."
"i'm not a people around my age person."
ray sighed before nodding, seemingly thinking before saying, "ok, have fun," with a large, phony grin, and ushered the redhead into the room.
molly whipped around, the doors closing as ray walked out.
she kicked the door, "ray! open the door, asshole!" she didn't get an answer, so she started grumbling under her breath, "traitor."
when she turned back around, she was met with prudence staring at her, completely clueless, holding a donut and a tablet.
"you don't know what either of those things are, do you?" molly asked, already knowing the answer before the girl shook her head.
the redhead resisted the urge to roll her eyes, and sat down on the couch, nodding to the spot next to her for prudence to sit.
"ok, you eat that," she pointed at the donut, "and this," she picked up the tablet, "is more complicated than it seems."
it was open to some game with beebo, which molly had briefly known about. it was honestly one of the weirdest things the legends had ever made happen.
molly knew how to use tablets and everything of the sort, but it wasn't really her favorite thing.
"you know what," she muttered, getting up and putting down the tablet on a table, "i think card tricks are more your speed."
she went over to a drawer and rifled through the contents. nothing looked like a pack of cards, so she closed it and went over to another.
after checking three drawers, she finally found a pack in the fourth.
molly had learned some card tricks when she was younger, but her father had taken away her cards and called all magic the "work of the devil."
that all changed when john found her. he practically lived off magic, so it became a normal thing. small card tricks seemed like nothing next to what she knew, but what she could do would probably make prudence fear her even more than she seemed to already.
