These thoughts came rushing down onto Kriti as she took her pen down to the middle of the pages of her diary and looked up on the street. The streetlight falling on the interlocked road. The road was calm and quiet, like there is no one alive in this world. This balcony she stood on was decorated by plants which were planted by her sister-in-law Avni. She made sure to plant flowers of every color, the jasmines smelled great at night.

Every single night Kriti sat on the balcony and wrote in her diary. The dim light and sometimes the moonlight lighting up the big balcony gave her a sense of peace. She could not figure out what was the cause of her being so ignored. Was she selfish about her desires or was it the shadow that lurked on her shoulder. Although she could not see him, she could feel him standing behind her watching over her shoulder looking at the street, his cold breath getting colder with every passing second. She felt him getting closer, was it jasmine or smell of the blood dripping from his forehead to his face and to his body was it just her imagination or his cold hand caressed her shoulders. “Who are you? Why are you?” were some questions that escaped her lips. But the shadow shifted his cold fingers on her neck pressing ever so slightly.

She wanted to scream, this shadow, this man standing behind her became the only thing that remained with her. Every doctor she consulted told her this was just a hallucination and gave medications recommended sleep, even provided sleeping pills. She never told them she barely sleeps, and she cannot take the pills because they will come, and she cannot escape his grip. But somehow, she does not want it to pass anymore. This shadow lurking to see the end he would write for her story. His presence on her shoulder each day walking around watching her listening to her and trying to kill and if she did kill him what is one more body to hide.

Her feet went on the railings on there own and without thinking her hands held onto the ends of the cold silver railings. The cold iron burned through her skins, as it was on fire. She looked down and just 1 floor didn't seem that much of a drop. Her fingers fiddled, her body moved and a loud laughter filled her ears. An eerie laugh his fingers on her shoulders carresed her arms the next thing she knew was a cold hard wind slapping her face and making her hair move with it covering her face....

And as every story has a beginning I will start with an ending.
