Alice POV

“Risa, what if I run as a Mayor? Sa tingin mo it's a good idea?”  I said with certainty.

I had been thinking about running as Mayor for a very long time now, tagal kong pinag-isipan and I think I am ready since I want to my own help people.

My girlfriend, Risa has been hesitant about this because she said that we will be separated for a very long time. And because she is a Senator, not that it is wrong but our jobs are both very serious.

“Mahal ko, we've talked about this right? You know that I can't stand being away from you even for just 5 seconds. Hay.”  May pag kunot ng kilay habang sinabi niya ito.

“But I've made up my mind mahal, I don't want to just be your stay at home girlfriend I want to do something for my own people's sake.”  I add.

She massaged her temples.

“If that's what you want mahal ko I'm not gonna interfere but... We won't see other for.. years maybe? We can't be seen together you know that.” she pouts her lips.

Even though it hurt me being away from her I still want to push through and pursue my dream. Hindi ko yata kakayanin ng wala siya sa tabi ko, but I don't think I have much choice left.

“Mahal let's call everyday.. So that we won't be missing each other.”  I smiled warmly.

She rubs my cheeks softly before pecking my lips.

“I think I’ll always miss you Alice. But I promise even if we're apart it's always gonna be you.”

“I love you so much.” I said hugging her tightly.

“I love you too.” she kisses the top of my head.

Love, I am now a Mayor. I hope you're proud of me.. ❤️

My hands were shaking as I sent her the text.

You see, it had been almost a year since I've left home, our home and now I am elected as a Mayor in my hometown. Risa promised to always keep contact but throughout the time I was gone her messages and updates were slowly becoming less frequent.

Just a week ago she had blocked all my socials but kept my number. Every now and then I would text her hoping she'll receive it or atleast read my messages. I update her even though she hasn't updated me. I miss her everyday.

I tell myself that maybe it was my fault that she was distant now, I have been gone for a long time now. I wonder how she's doing now but I guess I'll never know. Unless she decides that she misses me too..

“Mayora? Are you okay po?” Ate Jie asks with concern.

Buti pa siya concerned.

“I’m okay. I'm just missing-”

“Senator Risa? Hanggang ngayon po ba naghihintay kayo ng update?”

I nod my head slowly.

“Why don't you visit her? You know baka naghihintay din po siya sayo...”
