One Year Later...

Cleo yawned as she walked into the house, able to hear the sounds of the tv playing a children's show and sounds from the kitchen. She slipped off her shoes at the door as she heard the pitter patter of little feel barreling toward her.

She dropped to her knees in time to catch Grant as he greeted her. "Mama!"

"Hi baby," she said warmly, kissing his cheeks and making him giggle.

"I made piture," Grant told her excitedly. "See? See?"

She gasped and feigned awe. "It's beautiful," she gushed. "Where's daddies, huh?"

"Daddy with baby," Grant answered.

"Ah, okay. How has sissy been today?" she asked, walking further into the house.

Grant frowned. "Noisy."

"Noisy?" Cleo laughed, walking through the house with Grant. "Did she cry a lot today?"

"Yeah... she likes scream," Grant answered as he followed behind his momma.

"She might not feel good. She has some tummy troubles sometimes," Cleo explained as they settled into the living room. "Steve? James?" She called out.

"Steve's upstairs," James called back. "I'm in the kitchen."

Cleo headed into the kitchen, smiling softly at James. "I hear Sarah has been weepy today."

"Yeah. Colic has really been bad for her," James sighed softly as he stirred sauce in a pot on the stove.

"And for you and Steve as well, huh?" Cleo said, stepped up to him to rise up onto her toes and kiss him. "Did you take turns with her today?"

"We did," James assured. "Steve's currently laying with her to get her to sleep some. Both were pretty worn out."

Cleo frowned softly. "Poor babies. Sorry I had to work late today; surgeries took longer than expected."

James turned and wrapped his arm around her. "It's alright. Your work is important."

She leaned into his strong body. "It is, but so are all of you. I'm here now, so I can take a shift with Sarah next time she gets fussy."

He smiled and kissed her softly. "Good luck in getting her from daddy."

"I know, Steve has been attached to her," Cleo said. "I'll go check on them after I change clothes. Is he co-sleeping with her in bed?"

James nodded. "Yeah. He said he would be."

"Okay. I'll be back down in a little bit," she said, rubbing James's back for a moment before she stepped away and made her way up the stairs.

She didn't make much noise as she walked, though she knew that if Steve was awake, he'd hear her coming. She stepped into the bedroom quietly, all of the lights off and the curtains drawn. She could see Steve's figure in the bed and for now, everything was quiet.

Cleo smiled softly and leaned against the doorway. She loved seeing them like this. Steve rested on his back, Sarah fast asleep on his chest.

She walked through the bedroom to the closet, where she closed the door most of the way to get changed. Once she had, she stepped out of the closet and walked over to the edge of the bed. "I love you both," she whispered.

Steve smiled in his sleep but never moved. He kept on hand resting on Sarah's bottom, the other lax at his side.

Cleo didn't disturb them and quietly backed out of the room, closing the door. She knew too well how precious sleep was right now. She made her way back downstairs and into the kitchen.
