Queen of daylight

Prologe

The trees howl in the wind a slight breeze flowing through the leaves, even the trees shiver at the cool wind and light cover of snow coating the ground and their leaves. The deer lurking in the forest munches on some grass that's not yet been frosted in snow and munches on it peacefully. The lake right across holds chilly water that has not yet frozen over but a light cover of ice slowly taking over it, although not strong enough to hold weight. The cloudy sky takes over the scene making it look almost nightfall even though it's around midday, everything seems calm and in place not a single thing out of order, everything seems perfect.
The water lets out a faint ripple along with a monster bursting through the crashing waters with a human named Adelin attached to its back, sword in hand they shout along with the sword flying down towards the beasts spine. A blood curdling scream ripples from the creature before flicking its head to Adelin trying to shake her off but she reminds on its back now gushing with blood. The beast is all black, with a faint glow of purple coming from its midnight scales, it looks almost like a giant serpent it's long thick neck covered with blood and gunk from the lake pulled up under its scales, but its no serpent its a mixed breed.
No one really knows what a mixed breed it just that there a mix between an animal and another's DNA, its usually witches doing to try and scare humans or trying to make something even deadlier to wipe out human existence both are just as bad.

The serpent like creature lets out a hideous snarl whipping its head around to look at Adelin holding onto her sword wedged deep in its spine. It bares it teeth trying to jab at her but she pulls out her sword and slides down its back into the freeing depths of the lake consumed, by water Adelin cant see a single thing in the water she cant even spot where her feet are, maybe this isn't such a smart idea she thinks to herself. Everything goes quite not a single sound other than her arms and legs kicking violently turning in circles trying to spot this beast but nothing is seen. Adelin tries to swim to the surface but gets dragged back by pin sharp teeth digging into her calf just above her boots dragging her down to the deep, she panics and flips her sword so it's facing downwards using both hands Adelin finds the strength that shes now lost due to the lack of oxygen now slowly taking out her vision and slams the sword right in the serpents eyes a screech of defeat is heard from it before its jaw releases her calf, as its slowly sinking to the bottom Adelin rips her sword free and cuts its head off to try and sell or just for dinner. And now its corpse sinks to bottom blood staning the water from where the serpents body will now rest forever.
It's takes every muscle in her body to slowly swim to the top, black spots clouding her eyesight she slowly loses consciousness but not before the breaks the waters surface and a race of oxygen flys down her throat filling her lungs again once more. She throws the head onto the shore and drags her body out the water using her only spare hand other carrying the sword, she sighs finally able to catch a full breath. She has to get home to cover the gashing wound on her leg pouring with blood and stinging from salt water and all the other gunk that lays in there.

Adelin walks past the barrier of the woodlands into the towns centre civilians eyes stuck to the sight of her, weak, bloodied up and limping with a sword in one hand and the another dragging a snakes head. Some give a foul look some scowl some run in fear but everyone always thinks the same of her, Disgust. She pays no mind and walks right past all gaping mouths and shock eyes into another small street where she can try and sell this head for some schillings but if that fails then she'll just have to cook it up for dinner.
