"What do you need us for" Davion sighs at the Queen standing across the table five imperials stationed everywhere. The boarding room isn't that grand, just wooden double door on my left with a long table and chairs around, wood seems to be the main theme of the room. There are no windows in the room but candle pillars all over the table lighting up the map with ink written paper to decorate it. The large map shows Allerah and the whisper woods including the fae owned areas, the only part of Allerah I haven't explored completely, out of everyone here I know the most about the woods going there almost everyday the others have only been there a handful of times but they always say they get an eerie feeling from there, which I too get but in a certain part of the woodland. When I get to the border of the fae lands there's always a set of bloodshot eyes staring at me, curious and wondering. I never dared to go any closer to find out what that means so I leave it. We're allowed to go to fae owned lands but I don't like to spend long there, in our owned area there are mixed breed and god knows what creatures but it truly gets darker on the other side, if you spend too long there the spirts start to claim you, they say you slowly descend into madness seeing exact replicas of you but more twisted.

"I- I need your help" she pushes the word out "from recent conversations we found out something very valuable has been stolen from us." We all share looks between each other "we suspect it's somewhere in the supernatural part of the whispers" humans can't go into the magical side of the forest so it makes sense why she would call on us, but to ignore us and shame us our whole life's then ask for help doing a job for them, it's not going to be that easy. "You have plenty of witches, brew yourself a spell and go in there yourself" anger boils inside of me. If she wants her own riches get them yourself. Her gaze darkens as considering locking us all up but she masks it quickly.

I know for a fact they have a handful of witches for themself for reasons like this, to always have an upper hand. "We've tried, the spirt of the woods magic is too powerful we can only manage to keep a singular person inside without the magic crumbling on itself or if there was a magical boost somehow" she places both hands on the desk. Kaiser scoffs "we can't remain in the whispers longer then a day" "like I said we can't get people inside unless they have a magic boost" understanding clicks through my head "so your saying our ability to say in the woods would help your witches magic?"

If she does manage to get us in the woods for longer then a day how are we going to know if she doesn't pull back her magic randomly, how do we know how long we have until she breaks? It's too many risks that need to be cleared up. "What do we get in return?" I lean back in my chair, the soft velvet surrounding me. "A home, a chance to be equal" the one thing I want most in life. The others don't care about standing out, they don't care they aren't normal, but I do, it's kinda hard not to wish to be normal cause I don't have the powers to make me not. "We don't care bout being equal" Kaiser sighs, they turn to look at me. I clench my jaw her words spinning in my head.

"Then thousand schilli-" "I'm in" Rune cuts off the queen, ten thousand schillings. We'll never have to steal again, that amount of money could change our lives. "How do you know you won't pull out the magic as soon as we get in" she looks at me for a minute "I'll send in my son with you" Everyone spares a glance at each but I'm still deep in thought. "Fine" Kaiser answers for everyone.

——

The Queen has three sons, Asher, Aeron, and Caden. Asher being the oldest but most reckless they decided to pass the crown down to Aeron who has proved himself for it although he doesn't want to be king he has no choice. That's just what braelyn told me anyway.

After our discussion the Queen thought it was best to give us all separate rooms inside the castle, a long hallway stretches out three door on either sides, rune runs past me going to the middle one on the left "I call this room" he opens it and lets himself inside. Braelyn and serenity walk to the right side claiming two next to each other, the boys go to the left side taking the other two leaving me with the last room on the left, okay then.

I walk to the end of the hall the door furthest from me, Davion is the door across from me and braelyn next to me, which brings some peace I have friends close. Opening the massive wooden door I'm welcome with a wall in my left with another door leading to the bathroom the wall on my right stretches out til it reaches a floor to ceiling window. I walk forward a queen sized bed with wooden nightstands each side. It's plainly decorated but it's enough. A small desk on my right with a shelf and books most being historical once's of the kingdoms history, boring. A dresser and wardrobe is right next to that shelf and I open it seeing clothes inside, my eyebrows fly up.

"Enjoying your room?" I gasp and turn to see Aeron standing by the doorway studying me. "Guess I chose the right nickname" i scoff closing the draw. "Still a zyalo" it makes sense now, the royal family taught him my language, not just some random imperial but the prince. "Piss off" I walk up to the door readying to shut it, he stops it with his foot "that's how you really talk to your prince?" He chuckles and I groan pushing him out the way to close the door completely.
