Adam's POV
As we were dancing, I was feeling very tense. Unforantely Karyn was starting to notice.
“My sweet Adam, what's the matter? You're seeming to be a little off since you met Dylan's date this evening? I believe he made a wonderful choice.” I shake my head at my wife's questions, I kiss her deeply for a few moments. When our foreheads touch, being breathless I ask her.
“Would you like to see the New York skyline from the rooftop? it's much better than reminders of my past.” Karyn giggles, as she wraps her hand through my own.
“Sounds good. I may have a few ghosts of my own past to forget.” I know look at her with a side eye,
“I know that the past people can be real annoying at times.” I take her up onto the rooftop, where the night view is very breath taking. I notice that Karyn starts shivering, from the breeze. I take off my jacket, wrapping it around her. I was holding her close, when someone vleat their throat, I turn my head around to see another couple. The man smiles,
“Hello i'm Alex Baxter, this is my girlfriend Selena Jackson.” I shake their hands,
“i'm Adam Tomas, this is my wife Karyn.” I notice that Karun has turn pale, she softly clears her throat,
“Adam, i've known Alex since high school, Selena is my cousin on my father's side.” I nod, with a smile.
“it's nice to meet you.”
We could hear music come over the speakers. We started dancing, Selena seems to be cheerful, while Karyn was quiet. We switched partners, I could tell that Karyn was a little nervous, but I was distracted by Selena. She seems to be good at keeping one's attention, U
“So Adam,what do you do in life?” As we dance, I try to keep an eye on Karyn, which was very difficult.
“i'm a king in a small country called Tirania.Karyn is my queen. What about you?” Selena chuckles,
“i'm a writer and a investigating journalist.Which is nice with Alex being a ambassador for the US embassy in Greece. It makes life real interesting.” I nod, staying lost in my thoughts.
“How did you and Karyn meet?” I was still deep in my thoughts keeping an eye on Karyn .
“Huh? Or I was a transfer student for a year. We were in the same classes. We hit it off and started dating. She was willing to move to my country and marry me.” Selena's eyes widen,
“I never thought that Karyn was the marrying type. At least when I saw her, but it's been awhile since we met.” I look over at Karyn, who looks like she's in pain.
Karyn's POV
We were dancing on the tooftop, then at can you guess Selena's encouragement, we change partners. I know what she's doing. When I was dating Alex, she wants him. Now if she finds out that Adam's a king, she'll pull out the stops. I had nothing against dancing with Alex.
When I met Adam, I was in a lot of inner pain. I had been dating Alex for about three years when Selena pulled one of her many seductive tricks. The crazy thing is that i'm married, and I know that Adam loves me, and I love him. I felt very uncomfortable dancing with Alex. What ever feelings I ever had, were now gone. As we were dancing, I glance over to see Selena batting her eyes, causing me to chuckle,
“What's so funny?” Alex asks, which made me laugh even more. This makes gives Alex a confused expression,
“Funny that Selena is trying to flirt with my husband. He'll never fall for her.” Alex smiles at me,.
