Chapter 25, Birthday Surprise

Karyn's POV

It's been several weeks since I was the hospital seeing both Adam and Alex. For the three days that I was there, Alex came every day. It made me uncomfortable, so when I did have visitation with Adam. I told him what happened with Alex at the hospital. I didn't want to hide anything from him. Adam at first appeared hurt, until I told him how uncomfortable I was around him. Adam comes up, wrapping his arms around me,

"Love, I'm so sorry that I wasn't there to protect you. I have a feeling that he and Selena could be up to something. Or he was taking advantage of you being alone at this time. Only knowing it through Selena. Be careful Karyn. " I hug him back, with a tender kiss.

"Don't worry my King. I kind of figured that. I left instructions at the palace to not reveal where I'm staying. For privacy reasons." Adam smiles at these words

"That's good. I'm enjoying my time with you, and the twins. I know that I wish I could see you every day." I nod with a remorseful smile,

"I know you do. But there's a few more counseling sessions I need you to get under your belt before the marriage counseling starts. I hear your classes are going well." Adam smiles,

"I told you that I would commit to this plan. I have way too much to lose if I don't. I take this very seriously." I nod, as it was time for him to head back to the cells.

David and Adam's therapist have been sending me regular updates. He's doing well. The twins finally came home from the hospital, with no problems. I was on the phone with the therapist, when I hear one of the twins on the baby monitor. I can hear Rylee and Zoey attend to Ava, as I wrap up with my call.

I remember one of the conversations I had with David recently,

"David, how are Adam and Dylan doing?" I ask in great interest,

"There are times when things seem tense after their anger classes. But they're at least not screaming or punching each other anymore. They're talking things out trying to work through things."

I had to smile at this, as I hung up with Adam's call, to dial David's number,

"Hello your majesty, how may I help you?" David's deep voice comes over the line,

"Hello David, is David done with his classes today? It's Rylee's birthday. I would love to surprise her by having Dylan come here." I ask simply, David clears his throat,

"Dylan is finished with his classes. What time would you like him to arrive. What about his majesty?"
David quietly states, I smile as I hear activity over the baby monitor.

"David, I'm not sure if I can handle both guys here at the same time. Could you have Dylan here by 3:00pm. Then he can go back to the cells after Zoey goes to bed." David sighs over the line,

"What would you like me to tell his majesty? I know he'll enquire when I get Dylan. It's been four days, since he saw the twins or you. He's been asking for you frequently." I close my eyes for a few moments, to collect my thoughts.

"David, I miss him very much. Though I would love to see him daily. I'm sure it will come soon for him to be home. Could he come tomorrow around noon." David sighs,

"it shouldn't be a problem." I smile at this ,

"How is Adam's outburst?" I ask in great interest, David chuckles softly,

"His majesty hasn't had any outburst in a long time. It's mostly tears of pain and remorse. If there is any anger, it's towards himself." I was very relieved to hear this,

"That's good to hear. We'll spend the day, and see how it goes. Bring him tomorrow at noon.."

We hang, as Rylee and Zoey walk into the room I smile at them.
