A few days after Percy and Annabeth return, (Y/N) gets called to go with Clarisse on a quest to find the Golden Fleece.
Within only a few hours, they run into the last people he wanted to see, Percy and Annabeth.
"Hey, (Y/N)!" Annabeth waves, smiling.
(Y/N) groans, and fakes a smile. "Hey, Annabeth." To his relief, he's distracted by Clarisse.
"Get back to camp, you idiots!" The daughter of Ares yells, subtly casting a sympathetic glance at (Y/N).
"Not until we save Grover!" Prissy-, sorry, Percy, yells back.
'I've been hanging out with Clarisse too much,' (Y/N) thinks, stifling a chuckle.
(Y/N) zones out for a few moments, when, to his dismay, Annabeth and Percy board the CSS Birmingham.
Then, the group continues to the Sea of Monsters.
Sitting at the front of the boat, (Y/N) is approached by Annabeth and Percy.
"Hey," Percy says, echoed by Annabeth.
They sit on either side of (Y/N), much to his furthered dismay.
"So," Annabeth starts. "(Y/N)."
"Why have you been avoiding us?" Percy finishes.
"I haven't been. I was just preoccupied by the Chariot Race, and the quest, and defending camp."
"Don't lie to us, (Y/N)," Annabeth deadpans.
"I'm not."
"I've known you my whole life," Percy replies. "I know when you're upset."
'So that's why you totally know how much you've hurt me in the last 12 years of my life. Yep,' (Y/N) thinks, but doesn't voice. "Just drop it, okay?" He demands, as he walks away, leaving Percy and Annabeth alone with confused looks.
