Dear Sebastian,

Why? It's been almost three months, and I have received no letters. I thought we were better friends than that, yet I've talked to Ominis more than I have you. It hasn't been a lot, but it's more than the zero letters you've sent. Were we not friends? Did I misread everything that happened our fifth year? Were all the rumors true? Did you only hang out with me to get a cure for Anne? Were you really just using me?

Listen, even if that is true, I don't care. I just want to know if you're safe. That's all I'm asking. Have the Aurors found you? Did you move to America so you could get a fresh start at Ilvermorny? Or did you reconcile with Anne, and you're spending your time with her? You don't understand how much I hope it's that, Sebastian. You were my best friend. I just want to know how you are, and if I'll see you next year.

It's not too late. Please,
please, if you can, just let me know that you're safe. We don't have to hang out. You don't even need to give me an explanation. Please, just tell me if you're ok.

Please write me back. I miss you, Sebastian.

Yours Truly,
Y/n Black

"Stop being a pansy! You're a Black, for Merlin's sake! You aren't supposed to back down from anything!"

I gritted my teeth, trying to ignore my mother's 'support'. I was pretty sure that stupid wall didn't care about my lineage. Whether I was a Black or a Weasley, my nose was going to get broken.

"You're positive that this is the only way?"

"Oh, Y/n, listen to yourself," she spat. "I wouldn't tell you to run into a random wall. If we want to marry you off, we need to preserve that classic, Black beauty. Your status will only get you so far. Your looks will have to make up for the rest."

As horrible as it sounded, she had a point. As much as my mother hated me, she wouldn't do anything that would harm me physically. Besides, if this really served no purpose besides messing up my face, I'd only become a bigger burden on her and Father.

You're a Black. You aren't supposed to back down from anything.

She was right. As much as I disagreed with most of the Black family's beliefs, it was pretty admirable how stubborn we were. If there was a task in front of us, we would stop at nothing to complete that task and get the reward.

My heart was threatening to beat out of my chest. Carefully, I positioned my trolley in front of the pillar, glancing up at the 9 and 10 signs sticking out of the sides.

"Oh, for Merlin's sake, go!"

Before I could stop myself, I ran forward, my knuckles turning white from my grip on the trolley. A split second before, I closed my eyes, silently praying the wall would open up and leave me unscathed.

Cool air brushed over my skin. All noise ceased for two seconds, and it felt like I was floating in space. It was... peaceful.

As soon as I opened my eyes, everything changed. Instead of peace, hundreds of students in black robes pushed their trolleys around, carrying suitcases, owls, books, and everything else a young witch or wizard would need. Seventh years were chatting with friends, reminiscing on previous years and looking forward to their last year. First years were holding onto tattered maps, their wide eyes both curious and terrified as they navigated the station.

"Y/n!"

Further down the platform, I caught two girls waving their hands, wide smiles on their faces. I copied their expressions and ran towards them, enveloping them in a tight hug.
