Chapter 11 The newest Recruit/ A friend's Sacrifice

Jordan, Alina, and Glen entered a new planet called Volca a planet with many Volcanoes and lava rivers. Glen feels like he was in hell, and he doesn't like it. With no life in this planet, they had no choice but to stay here to protect earth. Bushin counts his members and Jordan's friends one by one. However, Axe looks around while stammering "Where's Lydia?" This caused everyone to wonder where she was, they thought they lost her, but Lucas pointed at her sitting on hot rocks watching boiling lava. Lucas sits down beside her, so she has someone to stay with. With one look at his own sister, Lucas discovers her blue flaring aura. When he hears her heavy breathing and sees the aura flowing quickly, he learns that her pain gets more intense the more she expresses her negative emotions. Desperately Lucas tries to help but ends up burning his hand instead. Lydia opens her eyes and the aura disappeared; she heard her brother scream in pain. Lydia then hugs Lucas to help undo its burning heat on his hand. She apologizes to him repeatedly while covering her face. She blamed herself for the actions she couldn't explain, but unlike Axe, Lucas forgives her easily. They seem to have a better brother-sister relationship than, Jordan's brotherhood with Apollo. Seeing them made Jordan feel jealous. Toby could relate to his feeling because ever since he's young his older brother abandoned him in the laboratory. So, they talk things out like buddies, Dusk interrupted them although they didn't mind and allows him to join. While each member has everyone to talk to Axe feels all alone just like in all the other years. Willow beside Sid talking looks at Axe feeling she wanted to help. So, she decides to talk to him. Axe looks at Willow as she talks through his problems. She maybe terrible at it but at least she's trying her best to help a friend out. She said to him "I know what it's like to... have... a friend who just leaves you without saying goodbye, I felt that way when my best friend got to Highlands Horizon. But it... d-doesn't mean you... have to h-hate her for leaving you" Axe sighs "It's not that it- Willow I know you're like the quite one on the group but thank you for your effort." Willow smiles and wrapped her arms on her knees and she said in reply "No one... likes goodbyes Axe, neither does... Lydia. For all the things she did that hurt you, at least understand what she's been through." Meanwhile with Lucas helps Lydia sort out her problems. Lydia puts on her helmet to hide the tears on her face, and she said "It's not that! okay. I left him! He'll never forgive me for that" "Why because he thinks you left without caring for him at all?" Lucas answered in a question. Lydia holds onto her helmet while moaning, then she said "I just- After our graduation I had to move on and start a new beginning, and that means moving to California, but then my mom died, so I ran away. Now and back then, I started to feel something I haven't felt since." Lucas looks at her in fear as the flare giving her more pain than it did. Lucas panics looking for water and accidentally spilling his water bottle on Lydia, as a result extinguishing the fire on her. Now he finally gets it and he said, "You care about him" Lydia asked again "What" then Lucas repeated the same sentence "You care about him." "You care about him so much that you wept when you chose to leave him cause mom wants to move to Canada" Lucas puts his hand on her shoulder and talks some sense to her replying calmly "Well sis sometimes when we make choices it hurts to decide which one, but nothing else hurts more than lying the ones we truly care for the most." When Casper passes the Gravity pendant to Toby. A strange, hooded thief took it and attempts to escape. Toby glitched her straight to him and grabs the pendant forcefully. Then he pins her against the wall and takes her hood off. And sees a face of a girl he knew since high school. He releases so she could get a chance to talk. She draws her sword out made of the same energy as Lynn's They thought she was the enemy and prepares to fight, but Toby stopped them. When Toby gently asks her to draw her sword back. She points it directly at him, to scare him off, but since he's emotionless he's not. Toby says her name calmly "Charlotte" she moved backwards in shocked, and she said in utter caution "Who are you?! And how did you know my name?!" Toby closes his eyes as his skin changes slowly to Gray and his third eye on the forehead opens, showing his true form, Half of the group (Jordan's friends except he and Lynn) were surprised to see Toby change, while the other half (Bushin's team) aren't. Charlotte slowly draws the sword away from Toby as it reduces to sparkles and she said, "It's been a long time huh" Toby paused for a moment and corrected her "It's actually been a month and I thought you work alone" While Toby and Charlotte stare blankly at each other Dusk barged in "Whoa hold up... You two know each other?" Toby and Charlotte answered simultaneously "Yes" Toby continued speaking in front of his team saying "Guys this is Charlotte, and she's going to be with us today" That's when Bushin remembers that Toby would to find a new member for his team to be complete, then he stands up and he speaks "Oh yeah She's going to be our newest recruit today" The entire team were not expecting a new recruit. They didn't know she would be a part of it either but without a doubt they accept it. While Skylar were asking Toby some questions like how, why, what, or other things. Jordan, Bushin and the others are coming up with ideas to remove 4 pendants on Damian and on how to defeat him. Alina followed Glen walking to the top of the mountain. She told him to stop because he was looking for answers about his biological father. "Glen, stop please. I have something to tell you." Glen glimpse at her and he said, "What is it?" and just as Alina took her breath to talk "Glen y-" Damian found the group and speaks in a fierce tone "You have something that is rightfully mine Toby" Damian blazes straightforward to Toby but he glitched him to the lava where he zoomed to fast to avoid, but the shield pendant saved him from melting" The orb grew 2 times defensive on lava than before, he changed his mind once he saw Glen's strong aura and goes after him. Jordan saw his intentions and fights Damian hand to hand. The arrogant devil couldn't calculate for his movements are too quick. Jordan then blasts a borealis wave which he would not absorb, he's not afraid of Jordan, but he avoided him and his moves right before Jordan could smite him. The strings wrapped Damian's arms and it sparks lightning, hence electrifying Damian devil. Willow strikes using a bright light beam, damaging, and blinding him. Lynn lands another blast of her energy at him. Charlotte copies the powers of the pendants and disables them with it. All of them fought Damian with everything they got until Damian absorbs Toby's power's and reversed the damage and froze them with time. Damian then uses the sword pendant to strengthen his energy and nearly beaten the group with just one snap of his fingers. Soon enough Damian saw that Jordan prevented it with an unusual yet violent Aurora tempest. The flash from Damian's snap faded along with the energy he had also cause of the blackhole Jordan created as well. Damian flew up and he enraged and growled "I can destroy you guardians with a huge burst. Let's see if you can survive this!" Damian causes a huge galactic explosion. With all 3 pendants, however the explosion got smaller and smaller and even smaller. Glen who shields the group with his dark energy assumed it was Toby since he observed his time powers, but it was Bushin who absorbed it all with just one hand. Seeing him made Glen's reaction on his face was completely frozen. After draining the whole explosion Bushin's blood mark spreads around his entire body, consequently, his aura level is above the guardian legends including his father's. Lucas threw Damian to the ground in a turbo boost knocking him down. Jordan opens a portal to let the rest escape. As for Axe he aggressively fights Damian, giving them all time to escape Lydia and Lucas ran to the portal but she stopped as she was just about to jump to it. He looks back and yells to her "Just go!" Lydia looks back to the portal and turns slightly to Axe, not knowing which one to choose. Lucas looks back seeing his sister frozen. He has nothing else to do but to yell at her "Lydia! We've got to go now I can't leave you here! Lydia!" Standing helplessly Lydia squeezes her eyes, and closes her fists tightly, while the words of her brother irritated her so much. Then she runs the other way. Damian was about to kill Axe, but Lydia saved him. Axe didn't expect her to do something like that. So, he grabbed her shoulders, and he said, "Lydia why?" she didn't respond to his answer, then Axe yelled at her loudly "Why Lydia?! Just go to your brother you brat!" Just after he shouted. He saw Lydia's tears on her eyes. He was initially confused at first but then he figured out her intentions. For the first time he thought she would leave but he noticed how much she cares for him. The villainous Damian goes on full strength to stop who's left, but Lydia blasts blue deadly solar flare at Damian therefore she gave them enough time to escape by slowing him down. Axe grabbed Lucas were the last ones to get out and just as he looks back to it "Hey Axe, Lucas", Lydia as she felt so much pain from the flare cried her last words to them both "Thank you... and... I'm sorry." When the portal closed No one knows what happened to Lydia, but Toby did before Damian's appearance in Volca. All Axe believed now is that Lydia died a hero to them and as his best friend.
