Chapter 13 Lucas' betrayal/Lydia's second chance

20 minutes later after the fight, the team assembled all the stones back together, but they don't know what to do with them. Damian woke up unaware of what happened except all he could ever remember before he got corrupted by the 5 pendants was the vision of the sixth pendant. Glen starts having visions about the pendants past and he said, "we have to bring them back to where they belong" Damian raised his hand and he said, "I know where they are" Everyone looked at Damian thinking that he's been there before Damian sighs, and he tells them his story.

I discovered them in a planet called Karaak. I was just a galactic scientist when I got there, I found 5 pendants in an undiscovered tomb only so I could study such them. When I wore them, strong power has risen with me I got so satisfied with them I couldn't bring myself to let it go.

Damian coughs harder than a person with sickness when he explains his discovery, and after that he continued. "Before I was corrupted by that power that's when I have visions of the 6th pendant." Glen who seems interested with the discovery asked curiously "What's the 6th one" Damian closes his eyes to recall all what he sees he kept focusing on its look on his vision and then he answered "The Life pendant, one of the most powerful and yet the most dangerous pendant of all. It's even more powerful than all 5 pendants combined. It could bring back, create, and destroy life. That pendant was so deadly that it was hidden among the stars across the galaxy." Glen learned that whoever has the pendants that hold such incredible power can be easily corrupted by not just that certain power from it but can quickly turn him/her greedy. Toby has all the pendants with him and hands it over to Damian so he could return them all in time. But the unexpected happened. The pendants were floating all the sudden, Alina gasped as she watches them fly directly to Lucas. The next thing he ever did was wearing all 5 pendants without hesitating, Axe all injured walked slowly to Lucas and he asked, "Lucas what are you doing" In pride Lucas held such powers altogether, if he could just find the Life pendant then he can take it. Lynn as his friend persuades him to give the pendants to Damian but he refused and tries persuading them instead "With all 6 pendants we could use them to fix broken worlds, we can save lives of our loved ones; we can also make our stories perfect. Lynn my friend, you can be with mother again. Willow, Toby, Casper, Skylar you'll be together with your families. and how about you guys? Are you three willing to let the go of the best memories you ever have in your life?" "It's our only chance to fix things and to undo all the pain the sufferings and sadness we went through" Everyone in the group started mumbling at each other, deciding whether to follow Lucas or not, and they chose not to. Axe said to Lucas calmly "It's all over pal, just hand over the pendants to me and everything will be back to normal" Silently Lucas's expression changes, he came to realize they never understand him, and then he snapped "So be it Guardians. If you're not with me then you'll die." Slowly Lucas floats up to the sky the pendants shined brighter than it did before, then Lucas used all the pendants to create one hyper blast strong enough to destroy the more than one planet directly at the team, however a large forcefield blocked the attack preventing destruction. What Lucas saw after his first attack shocked him hard. It was Lynn who made that large defense. He was mostly surprised not only because she's skillful but because she became more powerful than he could expect. Lucas grabs a hold on Lynn using his gravity pendant "You can't escape this time" Slowly crushes Lynn forcing Jordan to see her brutally tortured in front of him. Lynn's eyes suddenly glow bright, she broke free from Lucas's hold and fights him more valiantly than she did against the eldest. Jordan can't just stand there and watch so he leaps to join in. Lucas sees Jordan and prepares for his ambush, but Jordan swiftly rushed up behind him and swings his UV sword at him. While they are fighting with there might Lucas cried out "None of you guys understand! I was trying to fix everything that's broken" Lynn grabs the pendants from behind and replied back "Lucas you'll make things worse if you keep going on. Lydia never wanted you to be like this!" "Well too late!" Yelled Lucas "I'll save her myself! I'll save my family; I will do what you cannot." "Unlike you guys I lost everything only because I was too weak to save her" Instantly Lucas stopped when he heard a voice coming from behind "I know how that feels." Lucas turned right behind seeing Glen flying with his dark aura and he said "Easy for you to say. You're just a boy who never listens you didn't know anything yet." Glen was struck by Lucas' words, but it never hurt him when he knows it was painful to hear. He agrees to what Lucas said and replied "You're right I am a stubborn one, but settling things this way won't do any good, it won't even bring her back the way you thought of. The power, everything you ever gained, it's just- it's only gonna to make things worse." Glen meant every word of all the reasons why Lucas should stop and let Lydia go. But Lucas' power grows the more he let his desire to save his own sister overcome him. "I don't want to be alone. I never did" To make his statements clear Glen said, "The point is, even if you lost her, you're not alone you never were." Lucas enraged and shouted, "I don't care about what you say kid." Jordan joined with Glen while fighting "You should care Lucas you have to let go of all those memories of the past cause none of them matter anymore. You could lose more than what you already lost" Lucas yelled "So what? I'll just do it anyway!" Jordan holds his hand tightly. He didn't want anything bad to happen to a friend like him and then he said in reply "Lucas getting hurt and losing the ones we know and love, it's part of life, but we all have to move on because it will only hurt us more otherwise. "Please Lucas for Lydia" begged Lynn. Lucas listened to every word they say and looks at himself wearing 5 pendants first. Next, he sees his Willow standing helplessly watching him from above wishing he would stop. He learns that he's becoming a monster, so he lets go of the power he had in him and stopped fighting. "You're right you're all right" Lucas accepted and sigh "I was so focused on saving Lydia I never know what I was doing. All I ever wanted since I was young was to have a chance to be with my sister, but alas it's no longer worth it mate" Lucas apologizes to those he nearly hurt and gave up all the pendants to Damian, but he never begged for forgiveness. Glen after stoping Lucas sees Commander Kaius and runs to hug him. Alina looks for him and founds him with the Commander who was his father. Slowly Kaius' body turns into little bits of stars. Glen cried happy tears therefore he was able to see his father at least one last time but his happiness didn't end there. Eventually it disappeared when he hear Lucas was going to be executed for betrayal, he turned around and saw his master and his friends being held back by the guards from preventing it so, Glen ran to them yelling "Stop! You can't!" Apollo who raised his hand to kill growled "Why not kid? He betrayed the team, and he must die for it." Glen looks at Lucas first and then answered "Because Lucas didn't deserve that, he grew up not knowing his whole family and he never got a chance to be with his sister. Like I never got a chance to know my real dad." Apollo with doubt spoke back "Maybe if you grow up, you'll understand that it's the only way to do this" Glen felt offended by Apollo's words and got angry, then he makes a fist and yelled "Execution solves nothing! It only makes things worse Apollo. What if Jordan did something wrong? Huh?! Would you kill him? At least have a heart, otherwise... you disgraced the memory of your family." After Apollo listened to every word of Glen, he still raises his sword till he realize that this isn't what his father would've wanted, nor his best friend Ven, so he dropped his sword thus sparing Lucas'. 2 weeks later, everything went back to normal although there are changes around. Bushin gets to spend quality time with his family including his father, Toby spends his time with Charlotte and her friends more often, Casper and Sid got even closer to each other as they hang out and for a short time, they become bf gf somehow. Terran however visits his dad in prison, things were such a bad start for them, but now things have changed. Jordan, Emily, Apollo and his stepdaughter Ellen, and their mom Carla helped Dusk, Dawn, build their house next to them as a way of spending with their new family and so they can be closer as one, Glen and Alina spend their time together with their school bullies who are now friends. Glen felt a little uncomfortable with it. For Lynn she spends her best time with her father and brother, and she was very happy she met them again. While Lucas watches the sky thinking about his sister. Willow sees him all alone in a hill trying to let go of his sister and sits beside Lucas to make him feel like he's not alone. "So... You still can't" she said gently. Lucas looked at her and responded "Yeah... Thank you" Willow seems confused, she chuckles at Lucas asking him "No. thank you" Lucas sighed and told her what he means by that "For what? Lucas asked. Willow smiles and holds his hand saying what she means by thank you "For always being here for me when I needed someone, so I thought it would be nice if I do the same." While they both watch the sky, they both wonder what it's like after death. Willow becomes sad and apologized "Lucas I'm sorry about your sister" Lucas smiles instead of crying about it he shed a tear as he said, "It's alright We all lose our loved ones sometimes." When Jordan and Lynn arrived at Lucas with someone behind them, Willow winked at him and said, "We have a surprise for you by the way." Jordan and Lynn steps aside and that person behind was his sister Lydia. Lucas was so surprised he thought she died, but it was never confirmed how she survived. Lucas finally got a chance to be with his sister just like he ever wished when he was a young boy, While Axe left surprised just stands there and watch and said in reply "Well pal I brought you both back, just like I promised you" he should tell her or not. Who knows? At night Axe spends his time still thinking if he should or shouldn't until Lydia skated all the way to the forest and saw Axe holding a gift box, which was the same present he buried years ago. Axe trembles when he tries to tell her about the present, but Lydia knew because Lucas told her. Lydia arrived at the cemetery to visit her father's grave whispering "It's ok dad I'm alright. After 5 minutes of staying there both Axe and Lydia both walked past by Jordan, Lynn and Lucas who came to visit their dead loved ones as well, they met at that time and immediately left. then One dark night walking on the sidewalk Axe tries to tell Lydia his apology for his anger at her since their reunion, but Lydia said "Don't. I don't need an apology or your forgiveness to fix everything. I'm the one who should be sorry, I was so selfish I never realized that you were always with me by my side until I left." Lydia slowly walks away saying to Axe "You deserve someone way better than me and maybe I'll be happy for that" When Axe grabbed her arm, it showed her that never want her to leave just yet, so Lydia insisted on staying to let him take his turn to talk. "It's not that Lydia. I should've known about what you've been through, the lies you've been told, your parents' divorce and your brother's separation at a really young age, they all hurt you so bad that you always look after yourself instead of others. Because you're afraid to get hurt even more." "You wouldn't do this to yourself if I could just- "Lydia hugged Axe to prevent him from saying another word and cried silently "I know but don't blame this on yourself. Axe... please." Lucas hid when he saw Axe and Lydia together, then Lucas smiled because Lydia got a second chance to make things right with Axe. Jordan and Lynn watched as Lydia reunited with her brother and her best friend. Lynn kept watching and she began to conclude all she learned about what Jordan said about Lydia "So you're saying you met Lydia as Rouge Rigel, helped her stop her arch-nemesis, and discovered her identity before you became Guardian" Jordan nodded at her. "But it's good seeing them back together again, just like we did... sadly I'm not sure if that's gonna last long" Lynn said. Slowly Jordan turns to her thinking about what she said for a moment. He could just make it go back the way things are, but he knew better, and he said "Maybe it will or won't, but who knows? It just depends" Deciding to spend their last time together before they go separate ways Jordan and Lynn walked to the backyard and watched the stars. They knew when they grow up soon, they'll make new friends and their lives will change forever whether it was good or bad, and even if nothing stays the same forever for them, it doesn't mean they shouldn't stop caring about the ones they know and love. Change is a new chapter of life, and whenever Jordan's ready to open the doorway to a new beginning, he'll also learn to let go. For Lynn she learns to cherish the memories that mean so much to her no matter what after and to always be truthful to others and themselves despite their hardships.
