Chapter 35

~ 3rd Person POV ~

Taehyung and Jungkook contemplate their future together while sitting on the couch in their apartment. They are already married, and decided it would be a good idea to discuss their plans

After all, they were going to be together forever. They weren't getting a divorce, they've worked so hard Yo make their relationship work. They were going to make it work, no matter what happened

"Jungkook, do you ever think about our future?" Taehyung softly asked, looking up at Jungkook who's eyes were focused on the cartoons on the TV

Jungkook nodded his head while looking down. "Of course, I do. What do you mean?" He asked

"Well, I was thinking about what we're going to do once we're done with our careers. I know I'm young, I still have a lot of time to cheer but, I'm just thinking about when we both are to settle down "

Jungkook hummed, now understanding what his husband meant now. "That's a good question. I haven't really thought about it

"I was thinking about maybe starting a family. What do you think?" Taehyung asked, just wanting to know where his head was when it came to having a family. He wasn't pressuring, he just wanted to know

Jungkook looks at Taehyung in surprise, shocked that he thinking of it so early in their marriage

"We're still young, Tae. Do you think it's the right time to have kids?" Jungkook questioned, sitting up on the couch more so that he could listen to him

" As we're now married, I think it's important for us to start discussing whether or not we'd like to have children. I know we're young, but it's never too early to think about our family's future. Could you share your thoughts with me?" Taehyung took hold of their hand and gave it a light squeeze

Taehyung wasn't talking about having kids right now of course. They weren't been that far back from their teenage years. They were young adults. He just wanted to know Jungkook wanted to start a family, just so the question isn't shocked in the future

"I understand where you're coming from. But we have to make sure we're ready for all the responsibilities that come with raising children Baby, I'm not even sure if I would even be a good dad " Jungkook sighed as he looked up a ceiling

Taehyung chuckled as he leaned up to kiss him on the lips a few little times

"I know Baby, and we have time to figure things out. I just want you to know that I see a future with us together, and I think starting a family is a part of that future. I'm okay with whatever you'd like. I just don't want this question to be a shocker later on down the road you know?" Taehyung grabbed his hands and kissed it, looking up at his husband

When Taehyung meant that he was okay with what ever Jungkook decided. He meant it, if Jungkook wasn't two kids, they could adopt. If Jungkook wanted to be child free with four German Shepherds, Taehyung would go and buy them

As long as Jungkook was in his future, he knew that he would be happy no matter what

Jungkook turned to Taehyung with a smile.  "I want that too, Tae. And I know we'll figure things out. I just need some time to think about it you know? I just want everything to go perfect when it comes to us " Jungkook trailed off, hoping he understood

Taehyung nods in understanding, and the two of them cuddle on the couch, thinking about the future they want to build together. Forever was a long time

Later that night, Taehyung can't sleep and gets up to grab some water. He sees Jungkook sitting at the kitchen table, deep in thought. Hands on his chin as he was purely staring into space

"Hey Baby, what's going on in that head of yours?" Taehyung asked rubbing his eyes while sitting down at the table along side his husband

Jungkook looks up and smiles weakly

He looked down at his hands before speaking "I'm just thinking about what you said earlier. About starting a family. It's a big decision, and I want to make sure we're both ready for it " Jungkook swallowed as he sighed heavily

It was a topic that Jungkook wished him and Taehyung had earlier on in their relationship

"I know, and I understand that it's a big decision. But we have each other, and we'll figure things out together. I didn't mean to seem like I was rushing you when I asked the question..." Taehyung mumbled sadly, knowing that he got his husband nervous

He didn't intend to pressure him in any way; he simply wanted to understand his views on the prospect of starting a family together

" No Tae, you didn't pressure me...I've just never thought about ever having this conversation...you're my first in everything. First time, first love, first kiss...you're my first everything...I-I just don't want to mess anything up " Jungkook pouted but Taehyung got up to straddle him, kissing him on the lips

" We will figure everything out together, that's what I am here for, I promise

"You're right. I think I'm just nervous about the idea of being a father. What if I mess up?" Jungkook asked, placing his hands on his waist, caressing it softly while looking at him in the eyes

" You won't mess up, my baby . We'll learn together, and we'll be great parents. We have so much love to give, and I know we can do this." Taehyung kissed him on the nose and the forehead

Jungkook smiles at Taehyung gratefully, and the two of them lean in for a kiss.

From that night on, Taehyung and Jungkook start seriously discussing their future together, including the possibility of starting a family. They both know it won't be easy, but they're ready for any challenge that comes their way. And with their love for each other, they know they can conquer anything.
