Erebon's POV

We drive listening to music, and in the quiet of the car ride back to the Greywood with the girls in the back, snuggling into their mom, a calm falls over our little family.

Inside, it feels natural to me, but I hadn't spoken about that yet to Sabrina. I knew I was a general helping hand, but I had never expressed that I could be a father-figure.

Sabrina was against it anyway from the beginning and I knew why, so I was hesitant to approach the topic. I wonder if I should be the one to do so or if I should let her bring it up on her own. Either way, I can't stop the overpowering instincts to protect and watch over Sabrina, Alice and Noah.

My omega might think I was being over the top about being with her always now. Physically nearby – but it really did seem to make a difference with her. Physical proximity, always to me, her daughters or the pack, was her number one need. Her omega calmed down and pushed back into line when socially accepted.

The early afternoon-sex had been a wild, unexpected experience. I hadn't planned on having her in front of the pack, but damn did she go wild for it.

I look in the rearview mirror as I see her nodding off, her head resting back against the headrest.

I drive carefully to the cabin up an overgrown isolated road. I had to open a gate and drive through thick brush, but the SUVs we had were maintained and outfitted to get through this kind of terrain.

When we roll up behind the cabin and the SUV comes to a stop, I cut the engine and Sabrina immediately opens her eyes, alert.

"We're home, baby," I say it quietly as I turn to look over to see if Alice and Noah are waking at all.

Sabrina hops right into mom mode, shaking them gently awake as she whispers to them and takes off their seat belts. I hop out the car and open the door, picking up a half-asleep Noah wrapped in a blanket. I carry her while Sabrina cuddles Alice close, she's still passed out on her shoulder, her cheeks pink from the cold.

We quickly get them inside without a word to one another. Sabrina finishes tucking them in bed while we leave the door open to let the heat from the fireplace get to the back.

I stoke it with more logs and recline on the rocking chair, kicking up my legs as Sabrina moves into the kitchen, turning on the kettle.

"Tea?" Sabrina asks me, spinning and looking for an answer as she wrings her hands in front of her. I shake my head and she turns off the kettle.

"Why did you put the water on?" I ask, smirking funny at her nervousness.

"I thought you'd want tea," Sabrina pushes her hair behind her ears.

"I thought you were making some for you?"

"Don't want it," Sabrina admits.

"Always working, omega," I roll my eyes, "Come here," I pat my lap and she smiles all shy, running around the counter and hopping right onto me, holding me tight.

She was clingy as fuck and I fucking loved it.

I press my fingers to her marks at her neck and shoulder, where I bit her multiple times. I press my hand to her chest, and I feel her heart is always one beat away from weakening when she's not touching me. She was so fragile without another... little cutey. I wrap my arms around my little omega mate and squeeze her tight. I kiss her temple and she draws circles on my shoulder, looking up at me.

"Do you think Seth will be able to find the others now who hurt Eliza?" She asks me, her eyes full of questions, "He found one bear, so he's finally onto their tail. Maybe he'll find them all!"

"Little detective, always investigating," I smile and growl in the back of my throat – a little jealous that she's thinking about Seth. I can't blame her though. He was genuinely one of the most disciplined Alphas I had ever met, second to my brother. While Orpheus was all about the law and thinking critically, Seth seemed to be big on fitness. I was jealous of how built he was, but also inspired. I never worked out, I had that natural Alpha beef anyway – but Seth added onto that with his routine and damn, did it pay off in presentation, "I have no doubt he'll have more information we can work with tomorrow," I say that.

"Are we going to help him see this through until the end, for justice?" Sabrina asks, truly concerned, "Those nasty bears have real bad tempers. He'll need our assistance, Erebon."

Hmm. Tempers. Jams. Fairies. She reminds me.

"Hey, baby, look at this," I reach into my pocket and I show her the small jam I made with the recipe she found.

Sabrina snatches it and holds it in her hand, immediately knowing what it is, "Oh! The Veritas Jam," she looks at me like I conducted a miracle, but I just followed the instructions from the page she left open, "You finished it, Alpha?" she whispers, tears in her eyes.

What the hell...

I have to put my hand around her throat, hold her pulse – I do it gently because I don't want to scare her, but I also know for some reason that specific hold makes her focus and look at me directly.

"Yeah?" I murmur, raising a brow, "Why are you crying, cry baby?"

"You didn't have to... but y-you're s-so k-kind to me," Sabrina stutters and hiccups, like she might burst into tears, "And so thoughtful – you care – you care and –"

"It's just a jam, baby," I whisper over her trembling lips as she kisses me – her lips taste like the two tears that just touched them. Poor thing.

I kiss her back and then she's turning into me, straddling my lap to grip my hair and my chain – this sneaky little omega. She holds onto the gold and my hair tight as she slips her sweet tongue into my mouth.

I could kiss her forever, she's so fucking sexy.

"Where are you, mommy?"

We both hear a small whimper from the other room and Sabrina pulls away from me, already jumping off my lap and running to check.

I run a hand through my hair as the chair rocks with her sudden pounce as she moves into action.

I'm holding my breath when I see her run like that – so quick, and so all about others.

I can hear her talking to Noah, and I feel my heart aching in my chest.

Fuck.

I was so in love with her. Sabrina was so perfect, it was hard to describe.

I had always thought omega's were at the bottom. But she's way, way above me and everyone I know. It's even cuter that she doesn't even know it; how the whole room lights up when she smiles, when she's happy and in full-omega work mode. Like when she cleaned the whole house and got all scared when Orpheus and I caught her caring too much. That was funny –

Now I see her crossing from one room to the next, carrying Noah to the main bed. Alice runs along with her blanket and I know they're going to stay together for comfort.

I get up to check on them after a minute passes and it's silent. When I look in, they're all snuggled up under the covers.

"Don't go," Sabrina mouths at me, looking worried I might return to the packhouse.

"I'll sleep on the couch," I mouth back, keeping the door open so they get more heat.

Sabrina gives me a thumbs up and I turn before she sees my own eyes getting glassy.

I didn't believe in fairy tale romance, but I think I found a real wolf princess.

I go lay on that couch by the raging fire, my hands behind my back as I think of Zoran, Sascha, Quillon and Laoch being jealous of my girl.

They should be. I hit the jackpot.

My omega was fucking priceless.
