Sabrina's POV

An Ordinary Day

I pull the weeds out one by one, the gloves come in handy but it's still hard work maintaining the garden. Every time a fairy liked a jam, their gift of fairy dust makes the garden grow out of control. It's becoming a problem. It's pretty much Fairy poop. Fairy manure. Ultra fertilizing. Bloody fairies –

Erebon walks out the back door to pick up a second bucket of strawberries, he had the easy part – I didn't let him help much. I liked the jam business to be that; my business.

"You're working up a sweat there, baby?" Erebon ignores the bucket and comes for me instead.

I turn to complain from the dirt and overgrown berry bushes, "I want to do it –!" but he grips my waist and hauls me out of the garden, onto the little pavement and then into his front.

"You've been at this for three hours in the sun, take a break," Erebon growls at me, "Please, Omega," I whine along with my omega and he growls deeper, "Sabrina. Stop. It."

"The weeds grow back so fast," I turn into him, my brow furrowed, a bead of sweat running down my forehead.

Erebon shakes his head, his eyes sharp and judgemental... but in a kind way.

He tries to hide a smile tugging at his lips as he slyly brings up a picked strawberry and puts it against my lips. I take a bite and it's sweet. He feeds me the strawberry and he just watches me like I'm fascinating.

I blush so mad, so quick, I spit out the second bite and I pull away from him, "Stop looking at me like that," I growl and move around him, "Like I'm so 'fascinating'!"

"Why?" Erebon bursts into a gangster's smug smile, "What do you mean?"

"You always do that, you look at me like I'm so weird and a-and self-neglecting and ridiculous," I open the back door and slam it in his face as I move into the cottage to slide into the bathroom. I wet a cloth to wipe the sweat from my face and nape. I also clean my hands, discarding the gloves on the side of the counter.

Erebon opens the back door and moseys up to the doorframe behind me, arms crossed, hardly – ever – offended by my attempts to make him mad.

"You are all those things," Erebon shrugs one shoulder and I just gawk, turning to him and wringing the cloth anxiously in my hands.

"I – I'm not that b-bad at taking care of myself, I'm focused, I'm hard working, I'm pregnant," fuck, I've said it – it blurts out of my mouth.

I couldn't think of another way to break the news. I had been distracting myself from this moment. And now I've projected it like word vomit.

It had been two more weeks.

But I hadn't said anything.

I couldn't.

I was shy.

I was a coward –

Erebon uncrosses his arms, blinking, staring at me, "Wait, s-say that again?" Erebon thinks he misheard me.

I whisper very quietly, "...I'm growing your pup, o-our p –"

"A baby?" Erebon grips the side of the doorframe, gulps hard, goes red in the face and slides down to the floor, "Oh, moon goddess forgive me. I – I don't know if I can –"

"No, no, you'll be fine, you'll be great," I drop down to my knees next to him, my lips tugging up and down, not sure whether to smile or frown, "Erebon – Erebon, are you happy? Talk to me, speak!"
