God is forgiveness.

Throughout all of history and time
He's always called to us saying,

"I know who you are, you are Mine."

And some would grab hold of the hand that was stretched out,
And others would doubt the words from His mouth,
And reason,

"why would he want someone like me?"

It's too good to be true, they'd say,
And they'd hastily turn away.

Meanwhile the Father's heart would break
Watching His little child turning away
From His outstretched hand and offer to save.

And for those who grabbed on,
to the mercy and grace of that everlasting face,
All made mistakes,
And some believed that's all it would take
For Him to cast them away.

But the Father said "No.
There are consequences, though they may come fast or slow,
But I will never stop loving you,
And my hand will be stretched out still."

And He forgave.
Every sin and trespass, every secret we swear to the grave,
He forgave.
Before it was done,

He knew,
And still, He forgave.
