Aayan hurriedly dialed her number, his heart pounding. Kavya picked up after a few rings, her voice tense and anxious. "Aayan, where are you?"

"Kavya, I'm so sorry,", his words tumbling over each other. "I'm coming to you right now."

."I was really worried. You didn't answer any of my calls." she exclaimed quickly.

"I know, I know," Aayan said, guilt threading through his voice. "I'll be there in a few minutes. Just hold on."

Asfa started the car without a word, sensing the urgency. The drive felt interminable, each minute stretching out in agonizing slowness, amplifying Aayan's anxiety. They finally arrived at the pickup spot, Kavya was sitting on a bench outside their building, looking worried and exhausted. Aayan realized with a pang of guilt and a realization.

Aayan rushed out of the car and ran to her, enveloping her tightly. "I'm so sorry," he said, his voice choked.

She hugged him back, her grip firm. "It's okay."

Kavya turned towards the car, glancing at Asfa who was checking her phone and occasionally peering back outside. "Who is she?" she asked, looking puzzled.

Aayan gestured for Asfa to come out, and she did so with a hesitant expression. As she approached, Aayan wrapped an arm around her shoulders and said, "She's been my long-lost partner, someone I realized I needed in my life," he said with a playful wink.

Asfa looked stunned, clearly not expecting Aayan to introduce her this way. "Go ahead," he said, giving her a gentle nudge. "Say something."

"Yeah, actually, I'm Asfa," she said, looking shyly down and offering a handshake to Kavya.

"She's my childhood friend," Aayan explained. "She's here on vacation."

Kavya nodded, processing the information. "How do you know Aayan?" she asked.

Asfa smiled, glancing at Aayan. "Aayan and I reconnected at university. We've been friends for a while now," she said, her smile softening as she looked at him.

Kavya nodded again, looking between the two of them. "It's nice to meet you. Thanks for bringing him to me."

Asfa's smile remained steady. "Of course. I'm happy to help."

"Well, it's good to know he has friends like you," Kavya said. "I think I'm hungry, so can we just...?" she gestured towards the house.

"Oh, yeah," Aayan said, moving to pick up his belongings and handing Kavya the keys. Kavya waved goodbye to Asfa, who smiled back warmly.

"Okay then, goodnight," Aayan said as he started to follow Kavya.

"Yeah," Asfa replied. "Hey, wait," she called out, stopping him. She went on her toes and hugged him tightly. "Goodnight," she said, blushing and looking down, though Aayan didn't notice her lingering gaze.

Aayan walked away, shaking his head with a small laugh. Asfa watched him go, feeling a mix of emotions. She had never felt this attached or valued by someone before. Maybe it was just the magic of the moment, but it felt real.

Asfa quickly got back into her car, turned up the music loud, and started driving. All the way, she screamed in joy and happiness. Looking at the back seat, she felt butterflies in her stomach. She put her hand on her head with a wide smile, talking to herself, "Girl, you have lost your mind." She was loving every moment of it.

Her mind wandered back to the intimate moments they had shared earlier. She could still feel the warmth of his touch, the gentle yet passionate way his hands had explored her body. The memory of his lips on hers sent shivers down her spine. His scent lingered on her skin, a reminder of the connection they had shared. The way he had held her, making her feel cherished and desired, was something she couldn't easily forget.

AT AAYAN'S PLACE~

"Mr. Dev left to enjoy himself with his girlfriend. Thank goodness I didn't embarrass you in front of her," Kavya quipped, her tone sharp but softened by Aayan's presence.

Sensing the weight of her words, Aayan knelt beside her, seeking to mend the rift caused by his inadvertent neglect. "I'm truly sorry," regret and responsibility reflecting in his eyes.

Kavya, ever the sharp wit, teased, "Your other friend seemed smarter, even offered me a dinner" Though her tone lightened, her underlying concern was palpable.

Aayan felt a surge of guilt as Kavya gently placed her hand on her belly, a reminder of the life-nurturing within her. "Should we tell her about this?" she asked softly.

Aayan felt his irresponsible behavior and sat beside her "Biscuit, it might sound stupid, after all it is," he began earnestly, "You had a husband, a lover, and a family, though toxic. But for me, it's only you. I can't bear to lose you again."

Kavya's response being tender and teasing, "And you think your manipulations would let me go? When will you grow up, dumbhead?" She affectionately tousled his hair, a silent reassurance of her unwavering presence.

He couldn't help but smile, relieved that Kavya understood his heart. "How was your day?" he asked.

"Swara is amazing!" Kavya exclaimed, her eyes bright. "She showed me around the college, introduced me to everyone, and even arranged a cab for me."

Aayan nodded, genuinely pleased with her positive experience. "That's wonderful to hear," he replied warmly.

Curiosity got the better of Kavya. "Remember the other day when you said you wanted to talk about something? What was it?"

Aayan looked at her soft smile, which was missing all this time his heart feeling lighter knowing everything. "Nothing important, Biscuit. I was just worried about you," he said with a smile.

"Well, I've made some mushrooms. Who wants some?" he teased, breaking the moment.

"I'm not a kid, you know," she chuckled, a clear sign that things were falling back into place between them.

Asfa, amidst her journey and revelations, found herself entangled in the complexities —a beautiful mess where betrayals and lies only heightened the clarity of genuine affection. She realized, was indeed blind, yet everything seemed fair when it came to matters of the heart.

Yeh, love is blind and everything is fair when it comes to it.
